What did you eat today?
I love reading what people have (and getting new ideas/recipes).
My new year new habit is to have a side of veg with each meal (and eat it first).

Breakfast - Sourdough toast with soft cheese & bagel seasoning, side of cucumber/tomatoes,

Snack - Crisps

Lunch - Stovies with beetroot (traditional in my part of Scotland)

Snack - Christmas choc (trying to get through this)

Teatime snack - Bowl of homemade lentil & veg soup, a couple of crackers

Dinner - I am going to a pub quiz so will have a wee something to eat from their bar bites menu!

Porridge with pecan butter and maple syrup

Chai tea (until the 3 year old dunked his manky hand into it) and banana bread after a morning sledging (so I feel the rest of the day is deserved?)

Too many pringles
A bag of Gifflar cinnamon bites with 2 cups of tea
Handful of liquorice bites
Some random haribo

Now deciding on dinner...which will probably involve either Thai or curry and will be ordered on an app because its too cold to cook 😂

landlordhell · 04/01/2026 16:49

patooties · 04/01/2026 16:54

I had a ramekin of Greek yoghurt with sprinkles of granola and some berries, 2 coffees and 1/4 bagel with cream cheese.

just back from pub lunch - 3 meat greene king roast (dads choice for birthday) side of cauliflower cheese.

for dinner I’m either having cheese on beans on toast or some more of the soup I made yesterday with some toast (curried parsnip, carrot and lentil) it’s nice but ‘quite farty’ .

Do you not enjoy food?

Lentil soup was a very nice, healthy and warming snack 😊

I love how that poster came on, didn't answer the question, criticised and left. What a joyful person they must be.

I often have homemade soup as a snack. I tend to eat small amounts at meals as I fill up fast, but will frequently heat up some soup and have it in a mug late afternoon. In fact, I did it today when we came in from walking the dogs in the freezing cold - leek, potato and kale soup.

Breakfast was tea and then a coffee as I'm never hungry first thing

Lunch was a couple of seedy crackers, some cheddar and a handful of tomatoes

Dinner will be pasta alla norma and some roasted sea bass filets with white wine and lemon, topped with a chicory and fennel salad

I (stupidly) baked brownies and they smell delicious, trying to hold off until after dinner!

marriednotdead · 04/01/2026 17:55

B Gluten free cornflakes with added mixed seeds and cacao nibs

L A couple of gluten free biscuit bars

D Pork chops, rice, carrots and courgette

S See pictured. They have the audacity to mention cherries first while only putting TWO in the entire pack. Am so outraged that I've eaten the second half of the pack so that I don't have to be further disappointed!

What have you eaten today?
AliasGrape · 04/01/2026 18:00

Went out for breakfast this morning. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with one piece of toast. It came with a small side salad which I made myself eat! Did also have a few tastes of DD’s Nutella pancakes and a few of her strawberries - it was a massive portion and she ate about a quarter of it!

L - didn’t need much, I had a piece of bread and butter, a clementine and a couple of dates.

Half an hour later ended up scoffing one of DD’s kinder snowmen - she’s decided she doesn’t like them so they’re fair game!

D - A roast beef dinner but small portions of everything as it was actually leftovers from the bigger roast dinner I made yesterday (the one I’d planned for New Year’s Day but we hadn’t felt like it so finally got round to) So roast beef, 2 roast potatoes, one Yorkshire pudding, one mini pig in blanket, sprouts, carrots and roast parsnips. Bulked out with some extra steamed veg, baby corn and green beans, because I just thought we needed some more fresh stuff after the last couple of weeks!

Im going to have a cup of tea and a piece of my Christmas cake in a bit.

Slightly more normal service will be resumed tomorrow as I’m back in work and DD back to school.

Butteredtoast55 · 04/01/2026 18:00

Ruinous day as it's my DS's birthday....croissant and marmalade, ginormous carvery dinner (I'm veggie so have a delicious array of vegetables, 'all the trimmings' and a mountain of mash) then homemade chocolate fudge cake at teatime. I'm now in a food coma.
