What did you eat today?
I love reading what people have (and getting new ideas/recipes).
My new year new habit is to have a side of veg with each meal (and eat it first).

Breakfast - Sourdough toast with soft cheese & bagel seasoning, side of cucumber/tomatoes,

Snack - Crisps

Lunch - Stovies with beetroot (traditional in my part of Scotland)

Snack - Christmas choc (trying to get through this)

Teatime snack - Bowl of homemade lentil & veg soup, a couple of crackers

Dinner - I am going to a pub quiz so will have a wee something to eat from their bar bites menu!

Digestive system seems to have sorted itself out post-migraine so today:

B: scrambled eggs with wholegrain toast
L: half a roasted chicken breast with some mango chutney, cottage cheese, plus some raspberries, pecan nuts, and dates

Dinner will be salmon and chilli fishcakes with broccoli

B - tea with milk, coffee with cream

L - leftover tandoori chicken on paratha with dahl and mango chutney, chopped cucumber in greek yogurt for a faux raita

S - piece of chocolate, pear, cup of matcha (about to go for a run and can potentially see more incoming post-run)

D - will be pasta with fennel sausage, broccoli, toasted panko and parmesan, cherry tomato and rocket salad

B - fruit tea, porridge
L - 4 cream crackers with cheese, an apple and banana
S - a satsuma
Dinner will be chicken breast, steamed broccoli, carrots, peas and cauliflower, a bit of gravy

B: overnight Greek yoghurt , kefir with chia seeds. Added hot berries and walnuts in the morning.
L: 2 boiled eggs with salad,yoghurt dressing half a rye bread slice, an apple.
D: some sort of ricotta chicken pastry thing as I have chicken , a tub of ricotta and some puff pastry that needs using up, with tender stem broccoli .

@user233675892 ohh I love fennel with sausage/pork. I used to make a version of this pasta dish with chestnuts too - m&s did (does?) an Italian sausage with lots of fennel and garlic. We used to live right next to a m&s food shop.

L roasted butternut squash, goats cheese and puy lentil salad, with roasted cherry tomatoes, spinach leaves, crutons and balsamic dressing

D DP's homemade pizza (he does the dough in the bread machine) with a side salad

Breakfast - sourdough toast, fried egg and mushrooms with HP sauce 😋
Dinner - scampi, French fries and peas. Handful of grapes and 2 macarons
Tea- crackers, Wensleydale cheese and tomato
Several cups of coffee and tea, two pints of sparkling water with cordial.
Two Lindt balls and 3 peppermints.

Don’t eat breakfast.

Lunch- toastie with pastrami, cheese, coleslaw and gherkins - on seeded wholemeal (3rd one this week as pastrami needed eating but no complaints from me)

Snack- home made oatmeal raisin cookie that I baked for DD to take back to uni tomorrow with a milky tea

Tea- beef stir fry from my new cookbook. Was delicious and had it with noodles. Greek yoghurt with mixed nuts/seeds and defrosted strawberries, sprinkle of sugar to sweeten it. Another oatmeal cookie, glad they are going tomorrow as they are so addictive!

plenty of water and a few coffees throughout the day.

@BarryKentPoet cashew butter with chia seeds sounds so healthy! I’ll have to buy some. Also need to feed my starter and bake some more bread, been a while!

I had one of those gut-brain migraines at 3am that led to me sparked out on the landing outside the bathroom. Luckily OH rescued me.

Today I’ve risked half a mug of tomato soup and a slice of Hovis & butter. Rock n roll.

B- it was my first day back at work today after extended sick leave, and I had to get my daughter to nursery so I missed the chance for breakfast!

L- chicken and vegetable soup, wholemeal roll with butter, a banana

D- spinach and ricotta tortellini with a tomato sauce, a slice garlic bread and some vegetables on the side

Snacks- two scoops vegan Ben and Jerry’s (husband bought in error and won’t eat it so I will!), two plums and a handful of granola with Greek yogurt

B oat milk latte, overnight oats with almond milk, berry soya protein yoghurt, apple, prunes, nuts, dried fruit and a sprinkle of grain less granola

L no real lunch, had some popcorn, breadsticks, bit of a satsuma

D cauliflower and chickpea tikka masala, coconut rice, avocado, half a naan and poppadoms, vegan mint choc ice cream and vegan chocolate

S nakd peanut bar (in the early hours of the morning for breastfeeding energy!), decaf teas and coffee with oat milk

B- 5% Greek yoghurt, biomel, strawberries, pumpkin seeds, flaxseed, pecans and a teaspoon of honey

L - homemade roast tomato and red pepper soup, home made roll and butter. An apple.

D - Easy/ freezer tea night for us tonight so 2 chunky cod fish fingers and some tinned mushy peas, DH did make the chips from real spuds in the air fryer though. Melon and grapes after.

Was all going so well till I thought ‘sod it let’s just have a couple of the previously unopened tub of celebrations’. Have eaten about 20 now, feel sick and didn’t particularly enjoy them. Heading to bed with a peppermint tea!

Protein porridge with berries, banana and chia seeds - not sick of it yet....the whey protein powder tastes like white chocolate

Beans on sourdough toast

Chilli rice crackers, quorn picnic sausages, chunk of brie

Cod bites, jacket potato, courgette, spinach

Dark chocolate and finally finished the Christmas biscuits

Today's breakfast - overnight oats with ground flaxseed, chia seed, vanilla protein powder, plus raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, pecans and a little honey.

Midmorning snack of a banana and a couple of dates.

Chicken salad with a protein pudding for lunch.

I'll probably have either a protein shake or some Greek yoghurt before going to the gym later, and dinner will be chicken and vegetable soup with wholegrain toast, and either a protein mousse or some dates and dark chocolate.

B- same situation as yesterday but managed to remember a banana to have at work

L- two mini tortilla wraps with some hot and spicy chicken nuggets and lettuce in

D- gym kitchen chicken tikka ready meal with mini naan bread

Snacks- oat pantry mince pie porridge just now, also had an apple and a pear (and had a pack of party rings)

L - Fried egg, sautéed kale, 2 clear spring organic rye crackers with cream cheese

S - 50g prunes (trying to restart doing this every day for bone density), 1 chocolate chip cookie, 1 cup matcha

D - last of the tandoori chicken, paratha, raita, spinach and mushroom curry

We had dinner on the early side because I had a zoom from 8-9 and now I'm hungry again. Might make a mug of hot chocolate.
