What would be the reason for banning X? Unacceptable posts or the Grok AI nudity stuff or both?

I ought to add that I’m not against banning all of these wretched SM platforms (as distinct from forums, like MN).

Its down to Ofcom, so she could have just said its up to them, not the government, not our decision etc.
LK's/Labour's intent is clear from the answer she gave, whatever the outcome.
She said they expect a decision from Ofcom within days rather than weeks.

Rumours of this ban started last night

I don't post on here late at night anymore cause nobody is up and I'm just chatting to myself 😂

But when I first saw it, I thought yeah I can believe that. I initially didn't realise it was about Grok. That makes it different because ChatGPT etc etc can all do the same thing.

I've been on Twitter since the beginning of Twitter, and I still call it Twitter! I've been through all the iterations of it. I only ever see what I'm following so I don't tend to see any weird stuff. Also, you can have a curated list where they don't switch you over to any kind of suggestions

So mine was predominantly cats, art, history, literature - I am following more politicians now because as you all know, I like to go to the source rather than rely on the news.

Once again, I find myself wondering if Starmer realises how bad this will make him look and he just doesn't care. But banning a platform that's pretty right wing also makes him look weak.

I don't know what the agenda is, I can only guess

I suspect I am going to spend the rest of my life regretting not trying to move to the US. I really worry about Britain becoming some kind of socialist country.
