What’s not coming in your Xmas grocery order

So Sainsburys have emailed.

no spiced red cabbage and they’ve substituted cauliflower cheese for it (yuck)

no pigs in blankets and they’ve substituted sausage rolls instead 🤷🏻‍♀️

no giant smarties tube and they’ve substituted white smarties. No thanks

no nice crisps and they’ve substituted horrible crisps.

eleven things missing in total. Looks like I’m going to have to actually visit a supermarket 😆

First Christmas online shop ever, as I’ve been too worried about missing items.

Everything present from Ocado except 1 sub, Christmas Eve M&S fish pie with Charlie Binghams one. No problem, as I was in M&S last night to collect a clothing order, so picked it up then. Well done Ocado!

I do tend to pick up things in advance of the main order e.g. gammon and various non perishables.

My receipt has come through. No milk (just been to town and bought 4 pints), the beef I preordered from the Asda festive range is not coming, but thankfully the lamb is. Exceptional cocktail sausages substituted for normal cocktail sausages. Coleman's mint sauce instead of Balsamic mint sauce. Walkers ready salted instead of Pringles. A couple of other subs but I can live with them. More annoyed about the beef. I thought it was a given you'd have them if it was pre ordered.

Sausage rolls, normal pork one subbed for a selection that unfortunately has cranberries so have gone back. I can live with that (although dh is going out later to see if he can find some plain ones).

Well my shop has just been delivered and my beef is there!!

10% by value of my order missing, mostly dark choc, also olive oil and a few other bits and bobs. I thought there weren't quite enough bags when it was delivered this morning... Never mind, the refund will cover the tip I gave!

I'm missing foil, baking paper and my butternut squash soup I was serving as a veggie starter, from Morrisons. I had a couple of reasonable subs. Plus I had 6 bottles of bordeaux. 3 have been substituted with another bordeaux, the other 3 have no sub 🤷

If you’re worried about it catching, let it cook in the oven at 160, 150 if it’s a fan oven. I always do mine in the oven because I don’t want to stand over it.

My Asda shop is on its way with 29 substitutes, or not available items! Some of it is acceptable, but a lot of the vegetarian buffet buts have been substituted for meat party food. Husbands family are all veggie so I've had to go sainsburys this morning and ended up spending much more than intended. They're also sending Elmlea instead of proper cream, not a chance that's going on my trifle 😂 No tubs of chocolate either, on my shop or in sainsburys. My husband and son have been busy eating their way through the quality street I bought last week so I blame them for the lack of christmas chocolate.

Bizarrely I got everything plus more!! A bag of sprouts that I didn’t order, and a pack of sweet chilli salmon fillets that I also didn’t order. We have some leftover mashed potato so DH is making fish cakes with them 😆

Some poor sod is missing the sprouts and salmon from their order then 🤷

Carrots apparently, knew that would happen most veg 15p a bag everyone filled their boots.

Scallops and napkins. Can live without both!

Luckily I do shopping myself, as our Tescos has sold the last of the salmon sides they had in, and looks like no more expected. Went to Lidl very close, they've sold out of their Deluxe salmon and space andlabel has gone for that, but at least I could buy two half sides - essential as it's our Xmas meal.

Sainsbury and the only substitution was farmed salmon instead of wild. I’m not happy about it, but not pissed off enough to send it back.

Turns out I totally forgot to put potatoes in mine! Luckily I thought to check the receipt before going to the farm shop so I have fancy potatoes with mud all over them instead.

Sainsbury’s delivery. Only substitution was bacon frozen sprouts for plain frozen sprouts. Going through the posts it looks like Sainsbury’s have been pretty good this year.

Yes, we figured. But as there is no way of getting them to them, we are making the most of it.

Also Sainsbury's. No substitutions. Very pleased.

Haven't a bloody clue till they get here as the recipt hasn't come through (only the 2nd time this has ever happened with Waitrose) All I know is the total I've been charged is £5 less than the total was when inplaced the order. My money is that they have subbed a bag of logs for those awful briquette things again.

The turkey and other posh stuff was from the food to order range so obviously that's guaranteed, unlike the everyday stuff. Anyway, unlikely to be owt I can't live without.

6 Tesco substitutions last night - orange juice for better orange juice and croissants for better croissants 🎉, same yogurt in slightly different size pot, different type of Camembert, different type of smoked cheese 🤷‍♀️, wedge of Edam for Edam slices - that was the only one I mildly cared about but pretty chuffed 😀

Got everything from Waitrose which was a surprise, got some other bits from Tesco and we’re missing milk and the cinnamon tear and share. Milk is fine can pop out and get that, but the tear and share not coming is rude. I was looking forward to that! My dad has Sainsbury’s and never gets everything there’s always items not available so I don’t order with them.

No nice crisps and no nice cheeses! Luckily was already near a shop when I saw the email so nipped in a bought the missing goods (and more besides 💸).

No goose fat roast potatoes, they sent frozen chips instead. Lovely
