no spiced red cabbage and they’ve substituted cauliflower cheese for it (yuck)

no pigs in blankets and they’ve substituted sausage rolls instead 🤷🏻‍♀️

no giant smarties tube and they’ve substituted white smarties. No thanks

no nice crisps and they’ve substituted horrible crisps.

eleven things missing in total. Looks like I’m going to have to actually visit a supermarket 😆

I fit salmon fillets instead of smoked salmon.....

Tesco - Rosemary and fresh orange juice unavailable (really there was no possible substitute for orange juice?!)
Good bacon subbed for shit bacon
500g French Brie subbed for 3x 160g British Brie
Shower spray subbed for a different one so that’s fine

Have decided tomorrow I’m making cabbage from scratch and have bought a cabbage in preparation. Any recipes gratefully received.

No prawn ring , no substitute, no sliced soda bread , substituted with two partbaked baguettes ? No one pint of whole milk - no substitute 😳

I order regularly from Sainsbury's. At Christmas they sell a clementine hand cream with a little pompom attached that I've tried for the past 2 years to order for DC but its always out of stock.

I got everything in my Tesco click and collect this afternoon so I'm very happy. It included pigs in blankets but from the special festive food to order brochure which I think preorders it.

My red cabbage has been in the freezer since November. It was hard to get even back then.

I've just got some elderly family to go and collect, 1 more morning of work and then I'm in full Christmas mode.

Ardennes pate was missing from my Ocado delivery. I'm faintly annoyed as it's the only time of year when we have it, but I'm sure I'll cope!

I did the bulk of my non-perishable Christmas food over the last couple of weeks through Tesco. Today's delivery scheduled for 11-12 involved the last bits and pieces (like fresh veg and cream etc.). Everything was there - including fresh cranberries!

I must admit though I order my Christmas meat from my local butcher in advance and he's delivering my order to my door this evening ... excellent service!

I've stocked up on cupboard stuff and drinks over the last few weeks. Still managed to spend £300 in Tesco though. Well, it should be £300, we'll see in the morning! Have ordered the turkey, pudding and a couple of other bits from the festive food to order range which is giving me hope they'll at least arrive 😬

I thought my food shop was today, turns out my delivery is tomorrow! Have another Christmas Eve so hopefully anything missing tomorrow I can get then. Failing that I can always send ds x 2 to the shops 🙈

Tonnes of fruit as hosting for 8 young kids - dates are tomorrow and they are already beginning the mush stage. On the plus side Tesco man told me to keep them and he’d refund me anyway.

How on earth can you simmer something for over an hour with the only liquid being 2tbsp of vinegar? Does it really work?

Ocado substituted my After Eights with Elizabeth Shaw After Dinner Mints and M&S Organic Carrots for …. M&S Organic Carrots…can’t work out what’s different. Everything else was in order..

We got everything we wanted in my tesco order except after eights, but that was my fault because I forgot to add them, so have since ordered from prime instead .
The 15p sprouts were subbed with ready peeled but they price matched them thankfully, they don't normally on special offer stuff and that was a big diff ! I still had to pick over them though as they weren't to my standard😊 I also ended up with an extra pack of parsnips and a block of mature cheddar that wasn't ours which they said we can keep with no charge 😁

A lot of liquid comes out of the cabbage and the apples. You’ll be surprised. Keep any eye on it - you can always add a little extra if you need to but I never have.

Yep, Same as stewed apple - can make a whole pan full with just a dash of water to stop it burning while the moisture comes out of the apples.

Our Ocado order is missing swedes, peppers and we had a fennel substituted with an expensive organic one.

Just seen my Sainsbury’s receipt for delivery later. Nothing missing, 2 sensible substitutions, 1 less sensible one but that one’s not Christmas related anyway so that can go back.

So we had normal shop last week with some Christmas items. Proper shop due today. I have just got the receipt..... several swaps I can live with but no cheese ( or at least swapping good cheese for bog standard), and no mince pies (wtf?)..... I am off on a cheese hunt this morning.

Two substitutions, very sensible and neither crucial. Veg looks decent. All in all, very pleased. Good job, Tesco 🙌
