What teabags do you buy?

What teabags do you buy? And are they what you'd consider THE best teabags that money can buy?

Like I buy own brand instant coffee, but I do think Nescafe gold blend smooth is THE best instant coffee.

Im talking black classic English style tea, nothing fancy or flavoured.

Thompson's tea is the best, especially green or gold bags. I always stock up when it's on offer in Tesco.

Yorkshire Tea Decaf - first purchased about 13 years ago and have been brand loyal since. I get them on subscription from Amazon so that I’m never without! 😂

Another vote for these. I also bulk buy as I drink a LOT of tea (like 8 cups a day, but I am Irish so thats OK?)

Barry's tea has to be the red box.

PG Tips - it's what my Nanna used to drink and I just prefer it. Not averse to Yorkshire Tea or Tetley though.

DoraDont · 18/12/2025 18:17

Sainsbury's Assam

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 18/12/2025 18:41

PG Tips, caff and decaf.

I don’t have milk in my tea so many brands are too strong and tannin-y.

piscofrisco · 18/12/2025 19:42

Tetley. Yorkshire is too strong for me. DH tried to dupe me with some PG tips once and couldn’t believe that I could tell the difference after one small sip.

PeytonandAvie · 18/12/2025 23:23

Yorkshire tea for me
DP only drinks decaff recently and he likes the morrison own brand.

Still no other Glengetti drinkers😩

I've not consciously seen it on sale (London) but will look out for it! It's always nice to try something different.

I love Williamson English breakfast from Waitrose. M&S Gold good too.

PG Tips, caff and decaf.
I don’t have milk in my tea though, so I don’t like it strong.

After reading a similar thread I looked at YG and thought nah too expensive. Bought the Lidl dups instead. They’re very good and a nice change from the Welsh Brew we were using. Gone right off Tetley and PG

KrimboBell · 23/01/2026 08:36

i will only use plastic free teabags. Thankfully Yorkshire tea have plant based bags. I also drink green tea and mint tea so use Pukka teabags then.

BCBird · 23/01/2026 08:40

Yorkshire Tea decaff. They ok. Not as nice as the regular Yorkshire Tea unfortunately.

Ukisgaslit · 23/01/2026 08:41

I’ve tried them all .
Barry’s and Yorkshire gold were my favourites for a long time but M and S gold pips them . But please M and S do something about the bags and make the bags compostable . I’ve been reading its ’happening’ but has it ?

AreYouSizeFrenchOrSizeGreggs · 23/01/2026 08:43
