What teabags do you buy?

What teabags do you buy? And are they what you'd consider THE best teabags that money can buy?

Like I buy own brand instant coffee, but I do think Nescafe gold blend smooth is THE best instant coffee.

Im talking black classic English style tea, nothing fancy or flavoured.

Yorkshire tea only in our house, my DH drinks it by the gallon, we go through boxes of them.

M&S everyday tea bags in the red box. The best tea bags imo and well priced.

TheDandyLion · 17/12/2025 19:35

Whole leaf Assam, preferably first flush.

Giggorata · 17/12/2025 19:37

Yorkshire tea - except that I have been reading about plastic in teabags and them being bleached with titanium dioxide, so use leaf tea mostly.

When I can get them I sometimes. have Fortnums or Marriage Freres silky teabags. I understand that Clipper tea bags are unbleached and plastic free?
Anyone know about Ringtons and Barrys teabags?

I bought some Vahdams leaf teas recently and while the Earl Grey is fabulous, I am a bit disappointed by the English Breakfast I expected it to be stronger.

Georgiepud · 17/12/2025 19:38

I moved from PG Tips to Yorkshire Gold and never looked back.

Morrisons decaf. I far prefer these and when on holiday I take a box with me.

OttersMayHaveShifted · 17/12/2025 20:11

Well you can't know if they are THE best money can buy - you can only know they are the best you've tasted! For tea bags I buy either Booths English breakfast tea or Lakeland Special blend from a local independent tea & coffee merchant. I have lots of loose leaf teas too, but tea bags for when I'm in a hurry in the morning.

TheWibble · 17/12/2025 20:16

Yorkshire tea. At Christmas I treat myself to Yorkshire gold.

Barry’s Decaf although hard to find here so I buy in bulk when I go to Ireland. If I run out, it is Yorkshire Decaf.

toomuchcrapeverywhere · 17/12/2025 20:23

Birchall’s or Punjana.
