What teabags do you buy?

What teabags do you buy? And are they what you'd consider THE best teabags that money can buy?

Like I buy own brand instant coffee, but I do think Nescafe gold blend smooth is THE best instant coffee.

Im talking black classic English style tea, nothing fancy or flavoured.

Yorkshire Gold is DHs fave and he’s a tea snob

peafritterandcurrysauce · 17/12/2025 22:08

Tesco finest Assam. (Black)
twinnings peppermint

Tetley tea. Are they the best? I don’t know, but they’re the ones I like the taste of the most. My mum and grandad always had Tetley so they just taste right to me.

Clipper everyday tea in the black and orange box

This is my favourite too. We used to be loyal to Yorkshire Tea but swapped to Clipper as we wanted the unbleached teabags and they are brilliant.

I actually really rate Clipper's instant coffee too.

I'm currently using m and s gold blend and they're very good for "tea tea". Fortnums is good if you want loose leaf - their breakfast tea or royal blend.

MerylSqueak · 17/12/2025 22:18

Clipper organic. By far my favourite.

KilliMonjaro · 17/12/2025 22:19

I don’t drink instant coffee.
Twinings breakfast tea or PG tips

Crumbelina · 17/12/2025 22:25

Another vote for Clipper (organic and the usual one). The boxes make it seem like it's going to be some wishy-washy, hippy rubbish, but it's the best. Proper brew!

I really dislike Yorkshire Gold tea (and their standard tea too), I always buy M&S Red Label and can’t tell the difference between them and Sainsbury’s Red Label. Also buy M&S instant coffee (I try to boycott Nestlé so definitely no Nescafé here)!

DancingFerret · 17/12/2025 22:30

Waitrose Essential.

After being told there's not a lot to choose between Yorkshire Gold and the Waitrose offering, the husband of one of my friends who swears she can always tell when she's served anything but Yorkshire Gold decided to experiment. He's been making her morning tea with the Essential for over a year and she's not said a word. I said she was probably avoiding an argument, but he maintains she can't tell the difference.

Either way, he says his swap has saved a small fortune.

Yorkshire!

Bichette · 17/12/2025 22:33

Yorkshire
but to be honest after years living abroad and drinking crappy Liptons yellow label any British tea is fine.

MakeMineAMilkyTea · 17/12/2025 22:33

Ringtons cuppas

BauhausOfEliott · 17/12/2025 22:44

Sainsbury’s Red or Gold. I’m not that fussy though. I’ll drink any English breakfast style tea. The key thing for me is that whatever tea it is, it needs to be consumed in huge quantities throughout the day.

narcASD · 17/12/2025 22:45

Yorkshire Tea

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 17/12/2025 23:13
