He was well spoken of, seemed like such a nice man. I really hope it doesn’t turn out to be the son who’s had a lot of issues, drug problems, etc.

What horrible news. The Princess Bride is one of my favourite films. RIP. Their son should rot in hell for what he has done.

That's just terrible. Hollywood often turns out to be so destructive.

Makes me even more sad that he made some really great films, but this will now be his legacy.

Jesus, how tragic. I hope they rest in peace. This is Spinal Tap is one of the greatest films ever made.

Great film which is endlessly watchable

This is so upsetting. Spinal Tap and When Harry Met Sally are perfect films. Such a talent. RIP to them both, how terrible for their other children.

Heard about this tragic news half an hour ago, and the likely perpetrator. RIP to both of them.

What a talent he was. It's astounding he directed Misery, one of the greatest horror films ever made, when you look at his other films. His body of work was incredible. Spinal Tap II was only just released a few months back too.

Apparently, Nick Reiner called his sister, who lives across the street, and told her what he’d done. She discovered the bodies and called the police. That poor woman.

That’s really awful. What a terrible thing to happen. Their poor family and friends. He was an absolute legend and made the best films.

I have no words really, for the plight of their daughter.
This reminds me of Nick Cave. So often creative geniuses are often concealing deep sorrow.

Dreadful news. He was a brilliant director and writer. RIP. So sorry for their other children.

I’ve seen the film he made called Being Charlie which is based on his son’s drug troubles. I hadn’t realised he was still going through it.

It feels like such a terrible price of fame, his son descending into drugs then destroying the family. Very shocked by this news story.
