So a bit of 'sort of' local news. Rep Doug LaMalfa (R-CA District 1) has died (condolences to his family, of course). He was a staunch and unapologetic Trumper. La Malfa served a far north and very red, very Trumpy district. It's one of the districts that have now been redrawn based upon Prop 50. I used to live in District 1 in the 90s (pre-LaMalfa). Even with the redistricting I'll eat my hat if they can manage to flip that district to blue.

This reduces the GOP lead in the House of Representatives to 5. GOP 218 vs Dems 213. We now only have to gain 3 seats in the midterms to have the majority (by one vote). More would be better of course.

A lot of the comments under this video are saying it could be AI. The channel was only created at the start of January and her head movements and hand gestures are strangely repetitive. The voice is quite monotone and stilted. Sorry if I'm way off but it does seem suspicious.

I'm not smart enough to comment on the accuracy of the actual narrative. The woman speaking is AI generated, she doesn't seem real.

If you scroll down underneath the video you can see a box that says comments. Click on it and it expands to show the chat. Sometimes if you watch stuff when it's embedded in other websites like facebook or Reddit then you don't get to see comments. You need to click the link to open it in YouTube for this to appear.

Just to add regarding AI videos, it's supposed to be YouTube's policy that creators should declare the use of AI when the video could be mistaken for reality. However nobody ever does, and so far it isn't listed as one of the reasons for reporting a video.

I suggest clicking the report button under the video and reporting it for spam or misinformation. There's another box to type in your explanation. I'm not against AI videos but I do think it needs to have a banner along the bottom to declare it.
