Plausible worst case scenario with Venezuela in four steps:

1. Rubio and Venezuelan exiles sell the idea of decapitation strikes against Maduro to Trump as the one big thing that solves Venezuela, cartels and Cuba for the US.

1. Decapitation strikes hit Venezuela, prove successful, Trump declares victory and then gets bored and walks away.

1. Returning Venezuelan exiles and opposition networks find themselves without promised US support, army factions, militias, narco-gangs, illegal mining paramilitaries, Colombian insurgents like ELN pick sides and a country with 6 million weapons in circulation plunges into escalating conflict

1. Former opposition networks, Chavistas that want a fresh start, civil society can't stop a multi-sided civil war as Trump posts racist memes and Vance does a podcast, violence spreads across borders forcing Trinidad, Guyana, Brazil, Colombia and the Netherlands thru Curacao into difficult choices

This is a worst case scenario. It's as likely that Trump is just bluffing or does a minor hit that doesn't change much in Caracas

But that what were once considered wildly scifi scenarios for the whole Western Hemisphere are becoming plausible should profoundly worry the EU and the wider world too

Colombian president Gustavo Petro has requested urgent meetings in the UN and the Organization of American States (OAS) - only question is to what extent these multilatreal organizations even matter in a world where the US has shown no regard for the rules based international order.

I think generally no one on this thread takes anything at face value. That's why it's pretty immune to being taken over by the bots.

This isn't directly trump related but I have something to add an earlier post about Grok generating naked images of women. Why are the women the only aspect of the story? There's a lot of CSAM being generated, some of it is rather stupidly being made just for the purpose of proving that Grok allows it.

There are multiple Reddit threads showing blurred out examples of this, very few news outlets have picked up this aspect, it's all about the adults not the children. Are news agencies really that afraid of upsetting Elon?

This is just one example of a Reddit discussion about it. There have been many Reddit threads showing proof but I notice they are being slowly scrubbed, far less is coming up in search results today than yesterday.

Yes, but since there seems to be no bottom to the depths of the man or the administration, it's quite easy to believe the most outlandish things. I'm a pretty skilled consumer of information and I had to look it up to assure myself it wasn't true.

I’d like to think that while it is still up and functioning, not drawing attention to it is a sensible choice. It would be better not to advertise that fact until people can no longer use it.

I assume that the thing is still up and running. I haven’t seen any reference to Musk having taken the thing down even though these issues were identified several days ago.
