Farage said he had lots of letters from other school mates backing him as being a lovely guy 🤮 Glad I was never in a position to consider sending my kids to Dulwich college then!
Whilst it’s true there was probably more ‘Bantz’ of a dubious nature back then, it was rarely that personal (unless actively bullying) and I definitely never ever heard of anything like the stuff NF said - and as the first generation after WW2 it seems incredible anyone said this - unless they were particularly abhorrent and racist and Nazi friendly - oh!
Though this has been known a few years, just seemed to be ignored previously- I hope he’s never allowed to forget it now though.

He says that, @MsJinks , but he won’t give any actual names. I suspect they are somewhat invented.

placemats · 06/12/2025 23:28

So yesterday I ordered a mattress as a present for my daughter and her partner from IKEA - it's what they wanted. Paid £5: for a pick up locally because I'd measured the package. Today I got the text to collect it. Bit of a panic, but headed off. The package was bigger than the measurements, but this 65 year old woman got it in the car!

I expect at least a peace prize and a medal for my endeavours. 💪

Somewhat like the phenomenon of posters on forums and SM, who are quite rightly getting a roasting, mentioning the overwhelming support they are receiving by email/ PM.

One of my favourite time passers is watching people trying to fit an IKEA haul into the back of an Aygo/C1/micra in the olden days.

Edited

I have a an I10 Hyundai and it was well doable, heavy though. I usually get bulky parcels delivered to the house.

Oh aye, he read one out in the clip I heard - it was very sycophantic, so much so it felt hardly believable- I don’t know why he’s not called out on it, he can’t ‘produce’ all these people as they’d have to be actual ex pupils.
We can clearly see what would happen to the media here if he got in - DT leads his way 😞

It does show very bigly cognitive skills - biglier than many. But the prizes might also depend on the style of the wrapping - was it gold and well adorned from Temu?

I was just pondering that this time last week MN was awash with calls for Reeves to be sacked, the Tories had set up a petition and posters were predicting she'd be gone by the time the markets opened.

Now 🦗

Funny old place MN. On the downside, the migrant bashing seems to be making a comeback just in time for Christmas. Jesus would be pleased.

PandoraSocks · 07/12/2025 09:14

@placemats that is some pretty impressive mattress wrangling!

itsgettingweird · 07/12/2025 09:26

Been interestingly watching some local politics chat the past few days about Madgwick.

Whats surprised me most is the number of people who want to vote reform but won’t because of him (asking if UKIP still exists).

If this is replicated nationally then the more of them who align with criminality the more hope I have they are done for 🤞

edit: spelling

Is it a coincidence that Badenoch's support has become more vocal since the Farage racism stories?

Do you mean on MN or generally?

Either way, I think and hope that the Farage inclined might be having second thoughts now. His core supporters won't care, of course.

Saw this yesterday and thought of you.

Facebook marketplace - the musical. It tickled me.

I love that, have seen it a couple of times and it is still funny.

Murkier and murkier.

SerendipityJane · 07/12/2025 16:58

Surprised that MN hasn't melted down over the return of Angela Rayner. I guess having seen the Tories do it endlessly, they've used up all their ire.

Top marks to Starmer for finally acting like a PM with a majority that reflects the country 😀

This was t(e first I’ve heard of it - it’s on the BBC app but no push notification about it. Could be why no frothing yet…
It’s a good move. Emily Thornberry could do with another chance too.
