A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

We are bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

DM and some what buried.

1.3 million foreign nationals on universal credit ??

  • Universal Credit:
  • Over 1.2 million foreign nationals claimed Universal Credit in June 2025, a significant increase from 2022.
  • Other benefits:
  • Nearly 123,000 foreign nationals claim housing benefits, 158,000 claim sickness or disability benefits, and approximately 811,000 claim child allowance.
  • Purpose of arrival:
  • Of the 1.9 million claims, over 663,000 were from those who came to the UK to work, 179,500 from students, and 580,000 from dependants or family members.

DWP.

Ha SO true.

That deserves to come back in spades.

God, he’s not been tasked to negotiate with the Commonwealth over slavery reparations, has he?

Tell them we can’t afford it - we have to pay our increased council tax etc first…

So on that basis, and current form, it will probably be her and Ed Milliband fighting it out for the top job.

That is absolutely terrifying.

Ed was, still is, and always will be, the wrong Milliband!

What happened to his Edstone?

Pity Starmer didn’t commission a Kierstone as an indelible reminder of his lies and manifesto breaches.

Edit:Lucy Powell, the Labour campaign's vice-chair, was widely thought to have committed a gaffe about the EdStone, when she said on BBC Radio 5 Live: "I don't think anyone is suggesting that the fact that he's carved them in stone means he's absolutely not going to break them or anything like that".[16] This was particularly damaging as the whole point of the stone had been to underline the seriousness of Miliband's commitment.

He didn’t exactly smash Mastermind either, did he?

Another plank, who claimed he was raised in a family dependent upon tax credits, which were actually introduced when he was a 31-year-old.

This answer tickles me the most. I mean…

Mastermind Question:

Which variety of blue English cheese traditionally accompanies port?

Lammy: Red Leicester

Answer: Stilton

Ironic, given he’s clearly no stranger to the cheese trolley…

Ok, sorry…

I loved the Ed Stone. Peak Labour right there 😂.
It mysteriously went missing for years after he lost. Total bellend.

Total bell-end.

I recall he unveiled it in some provincial car park.

Hardly Charlton Heston.

Here you go, complete with unveiling in a carpark video 😂

I remember showing it to my Labour voting dh, and saying "surely you're not gonna vote for him!"

I’d forgotten about the 8ft+ tall Edstone.

‘The Labour Party failed to declare the £7,614 cost of the stone in its election finances report, leading to an investigation by the Electoral Commission. The Commission found that the party had omitted £150,000 in undisclosed payments, resulting in the party being fined £20,000 and its treasurer, Iain McNicol, being charged with two offences under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.’

They’ve always been useless corrupt greedy cretins.

I didn't know about the failure to declare. God they can't do anything right can they?

Reading the pledges on the stone, they are remarkably close to Labour's pre-election waffle bomb, I mean manifesto. I wonder what Ed meant by 'working families'?

LOL, with a knife and fork, one would imagine.

Speaking of -

SIR Keir Starmer vetoed talk of David Miliband and Ed Balls return as Labour MPs, a party insider claims.
The embattled PM “does not like tall poppies” who could rival him, the senior figure says.

Oh yes! Only missing the private school tax..

Working families obviously not inclusive enough.. it’s people! WORKING PEOPLE! Like us! Just like us!!

Sorry my use of exclamation marks gets higher when I get more riled.. ok time to finish off that nice red (not blue) wine I found yesterday.. (!)..
