Is anyone else worried about Sara Cox?

She looks broken! I’m really worried about her. This is an extreme challenge and I’m questioning why we need to watch someone suffer and struggle for charity?
I’m in awe and admiration of her, but I also want to give her a HOT bath and tuck her into a big cosy bed with a gallon of tea and a dozen hot buttered crumpets.
Is it just me?

She was crying on the radio yesterday morning. It made me cry!

TeaAtThreeTwentyFive · 13/11/2025 19:39

Agreed!!! I hope she has a luxury all inclusive holiday coming up and a spa break...

MsSmartShoes · 13/11/2025 19:39

I just saw a clip of her talking to her mum on the phone and she was really crying.

I looked on instagram today to see what all the fuss was about and it made me cry. Does she finish tomorrow? I hope so.

Higglea · 13/11/2025 19:41

She’s raised over 3 million and that will go up tomorrow. It’s hard and that’s why people donate. Lots of others doing challenges all over the country, walking miles. Good on her.

You don’t have to watch!

landlordhell · 13/11/2025 19:42

I know what you mean, why do we have to break people to raise money? She’s not an athlete!-

Oh, that'll push donations up a bit....🙄

I don't think they'll stop offering up their annual sacrifice to the big yellow bear god until someone dies, tbh.

Or people could just donate the money? Just a thought…

StasisMom · 13/11/2025 19:46

Yes I was yesterday when she hadn’t slept and was teary talking to Scott Mills. I’m so glad she slept last night and yes, I’m welling up now thinking of her..! And I’m not usually a crier over humans, just animals.

I’ve really liked her for a long time and think she’s very human and down to earth and genuine. What she’s doing is so bloody hard and I didn’t know till today that she’s not actually a runner, I assumed she was given she’s tall and slim. I wondered yesterday if she could carry on as I don’t imagine she’d give in easily, but she did it.

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2025 19:47

I don’t envy the DJ they ask to do next years one! How can you top that ( and the last two years haven’t been a breeze either )

notapizzaeater · 13/11/2025 19:51

I saw her tonight walking on the telly, she looked like her legs were rubbing (was walking like she’d been on a horse for hours !) poor love

I run a marathon a year (slowly!!) as a personal challenge and I sob during each and every one. It’s not through pain and misery- I chose to do it.

When you are doing the hardest thing you’ve ever done you dig deeper than you ever thought possible and you find out things about yourself that you never knew. You also desperately want to succeed for the people who have supported/sponsored you. It’s that kind of thing that keeps you going- I can imagine Sara’s challenge is that x 100. When you’re in that state, people cheering you on, surprising you etc, is enough to tip you over the edge and they are constantly surprising her!

She’s got an entire crew and medical team just to support her and monitor her, who would pull her out if required! People run these kind of distances in races all across the world and aren’t monitored or checked to this kind of level- this is ultra running and it’s well known that most people find they can go further than they ever thought possible.

Absolutely good on her for giving it a go and doing so in such a public manner- it’s really brave!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 13/11/2025 19:54

It’s an extremely tough challenge for sure, but she’ll have had great preparation and excellent support along the way.

She’s got a really peculiar running style - I think she said something the other day about being bullied at school for her running, so that definitely won’t help as it’s inefficient.

I really hope that she is treated like royalty tomorrow night once she’s finished and over the weekend. She definitely deserves it.

There has to be a limit to what we ask these celebrities to do in the name of charity. Not sure when we’ll reach it, but it feels as if we’re getting very close.

EsmeMulligan · 13/11/2025 19:55

They do it every year. Remember Zoe Ball? Vernon Kay? They always survive and flourish.

OchreSky · 13/11/2025 19:58

It’s work place bullying! Poor Sara. Shes nearly done now.

gottadowhatyougottado · 13/11/2025 20:03

I feel the same about all extreme efforts to go to the longest, highest, fastest, first person ever to etc. in whatever endeavour. I personally don’t get it and certainly don’t admire it - I just think it’s a bit daft to go to those lengths. The amount of money she has raised is admirable but I can’t help think that could have been achieved in a much easier way

I’m sure she’ll feel super proud afterwards she’s had some kip. I certainly couldn’t do it, I don’t have the stamina or mental strength.

She's really into her horses, isn't she? Perhaps she should have ridden the length of England or something instead.

Higglea · 13/11/2025 20:19

CurlewKate · 13/11/2025 19:46

But they don’t - the point is she’s raised millions doing this. So you might donate just because of a children in need ad, but most don’t, there’s usually an event or challenge. Supporting a person in doing something people don’t feel they could do and a cause at the same time is a double whammy and gets the donations in.

HatFamster · 13/11/2025 20:27

She ran through my village today in the cold and rain, she looked exhausted.
That was a few hours ago!
I think she may have stopped now for the night.

Do people donate because it's hard? Would you not donate if it was less hard?

I personally think it's ridiculous. It's too tough. she's broken. She can hardly walk.

BrendaSmall · 13/11/2025 20:30

Who is she and what’s she doing?

Zov · 13/11/2025 20:32

I haven't seen or heard anything about Sara Cox.

What's wrong with her?

What's happened?

LadyKenya · 13/11/2025 20:33

It sounds too extreme. I don't see the point in going to such lengths to raise money, for charity.
