A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

This is absolutely disgusting. Starmer has had 40 foreign trips in just 16 months. How much is that costing the British taxpayer? What an absolute, freeloading opportunist. He's not remotely interested in serving this country, he's only interested in making a name for himself globally and enjoying all the lavish perks of first class world travel. How the other half live eh.

How dare he lecture us on climate change when in 16 months he's done more air travel than many people would do in their entire lifetime!

Never here Keir savaged as 40 foreign trips listed with Lammy left in charge

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is in Brazil this week for COP30, leaving his deputy David Lammy to tackle PMQs.

Sunak make 24 trips to 22 countries in his 19 months as PM.

Boris Johnson did 26 trips to 18 countries in his 38 months: there was a pandemic during part of that... but not all. He was PM for 7 months before covid hit, and travel had properly restarted by mid-2021, which gave him another year.

40 trips in 16 months for Starmer does seem pretty excessive!

strawberrybubblegum · 07/11/2025 18:49

Of course, he'll say it was all the Tories fault. Usual Labour excuse!

Yep. Poncing around anywhere but here, while Rome burns.
I bet Prince William was thrilled when Starmer changed his mind last minute about going to COP. 🙄

Never Here Keir is very fitting.

Remember the abuse Sunak got for using a helicopter? CF.

It's not just him up to these taxpayer funded jollies.

Linsdey Hoyle the Speaker of the House is at it too £250,000 worth. The Times has a good story about it, but it's behind a paywall.

Copy and paste the story URL into archive.ph and it will give you an archived version you can share.

I don’t know why he thought he should go. Prince William is much better for it and we’re paying for him to do that kind of thing.

You can read paywalled articles by c&ping the link into archive ph.

Long Haul Hoyle also has a reputation for it. Why does he even need to travel the world and use private jets? Its ridiculous.
Lammy had his knuckles wrapped for it too. I can't remember the full story, but I think he spent £1M on private jets in 3 months. All that poverty porn they spout eh.

Labour MPs are divided over Lammy.

Labour MPs must have been mortified by his performance on Wednesday, surely.
Ironic that he shouted 'get a grip man' at Cartlidge.

I was in NY for work a few weeks ago - the sense of decline in some areas was already evident. I imagine it will accelerate now.

And yes, capital will flee to Florida and Texas.

Edited

I really don't like NY.
It stinks, I always feel like the air is fresher indoors. I went last year and there was a noticeable increase of drugged up zombies on the streets.

Speaking of clowns, who else saw Robert Jenrick's post that had AI turn Lammy into a clown? Funny or too far?

I haven't seen it, sounds funny though. A clown is very apt for Lammy.

4 star Hotels that were commonly used as places where locals got married, school proms and charged up to £200 a night. These are horrible experiences for people coming from places earning less than £500 a year !

These people are quite comical ...

EasternStandard · 07/11/2025 21:23

@redangeI think it’s a bit tricky bringing posts over from other threads. It’s not usually like by mnhq. Sorry to be saying this

EmeraldRoulette · 07/11/2025 21:43

doesn't Sadiq Khan always go to this event?

So sick of this gravy train

I think people are underestimating the threat from the Greens

sorry, I think I said that before

Sorry, also about the weird formatting - what is going on with the site tonight?!

Love the Matt cartoon - thanks for sharing @EasternStandard

MN has been working fine for me today. I hope it improves for you.
I wouldn't be surprised if Khan goes every year.
I agree that the Greens are worrying. Their polling goes up every week. The worse Labour get, the more popular the Greens will get unfortunately.
Perhaps the next GE will boil down to Reform Vs Green. There's a scary thought.

Night
