Confirmed by police about half an hour ago that the 35 year old arrested has been released without charge.

You don’t think Islamic extremists hate our culture?

What do these stabbings have to do with Islam?

It’s racist to be bleating on about Muslims having to speak up about terror, when the police have even said it’s not terror!

Passthebiscuit12 · 02/11/2025 22:09

Yes so there is a man who strolls outside our local hospital always drunk and very intimidating and not very well. A little while ago he punched me in the face in an unprovoked attack causing damage to my jaw. I called the police after I had ran back inside so who asked if he was still there I said I don’t know I’m not out there … could you go and check? 🙈🙈

anyway they arrested him and he got bail this was the second time he has punched a nurse.
he then got bail conditions and broke them returning to the hospital go re arrested.
let out again on bail and then did not turn up to court was found guilty because of CCTV was very clear … no prison setence.

his still strolling in the same place now daily.

That’s shocking! What was his punishment?

NormasArse · 02/11/2025 22:32

Puppylucky · 02/11/2025 18:11

It seems more likely that the second guy was swept up in the arrest as the other black man at the scene. This is what we have come to.

One of them was white, but of Caribbean descent (born here). Why it was necessary to print his distant ethnicity was beyond me, even if he was a perpetrator.

Because at the time of commenting, it wasn’t an unreasonable line of thought to believe it might be a terrorist attack. The police were even investigating this line of enquiry.

Horrendous. Absolutely horrendous. Arrested for the colour of his skin

But in reality if witnesses had said blond haired blue eyed male you would expect them to arrest anyone fitting that description who was in the area until they could rule them out, and that’s what has happened.

@nomas in what way am I obsessed with it being terrorism? I simply corrected your misleading statement that the police have declared that it is not terrorist attack. All they have said is that they are not treating it as a terrorist attack at this stage. That’s the sum total of my entire comments on the subject. Hardly an obsession.

What was your comparison with Axel R about then? Axel Rudakubana's actions were determined by police and the court not to meet the definition of terrorism because he did not act to further a political, religious, or ideological cause.
He was found to be motivated by a general fascination with extreme violence, mass murder, and genocide.

I hope the many posters who came on here spouting their vile racist views will have the decency to apologise?

Nope, thought not.

Yes! Some of the posts on the last thread were disgusting. I dont recognise the UK anymore. I never understood how Germany could have spiralled so drastically in the 1930s - we are living it now. So much hatred and racism.

AzurePanda · 02/11/2025 22:40

@nomas it was simply a statement of the obvious, that it takes time for an investigation to establish the facts about a perpetrator, whatever they may be.

I have no vested interest in whether it was terrorism or mental health.
I’m concerned with male violence.

Shame you’re not saying this to the people exhorting Muslims to speak up about terror after this attack.

@nomas is a bit of a fibber.

Also, they should know that Islam is not a race. It’s an ideology.

Thanks. Pre press conference there was press on Plato meaning this.

Police responding to the mass stabbing had at one point declared it “Operation Plato”, the national code used by officers to denote a response to a marauding terror attack.

I did listen to the conference and knew it was updated then.

AzurePanda · 02/11/2025 22:44

@nomas you are the one who seems obsessed. I am the one saying we can’t possibly know at this stage what motivated the attacker.

Pinkpoems · 02/11/2025 22:45

Ah, the favourite line of Tommy’s ilk to justify hatred to Muslims.

I don’t think the police have confirmed or denied which, if any, football team the arrested man supports but given he is from Peterborough it seems unlikely!

floppybit · 02/11/2025 22:52

AllPlayedOut · 02/11/2025 18:26

There are rather a lot of people on here criticising others for jumping to conclusions only to do exactly that themselves. We don’t know for sure that he’s a mentally ill man who has been let down by the system. We don’t know for definite that he isn’t a terrorist. We don’t know that he is. It could be a little of both. He could be mentally ill and still capable of knowing what he was doing. There could be other possible reasons too e.g a brawl that started and spread. Who knows? We’ll just have to wait and see but people are more interested in scolding and feeling superior to each other than the victims. Regardless of the reason they’ve all suffered a truly horrendous ordeal even if they weren’t wounded. The focus should really be on them for now. It’s too early to know much more for definite.

Thank god - a sensible response instead of this endless virtue signalling.

AzurePanda · 02/11/2025 22:52

@nomas I haven’t actually seen those posts. I only looked at the last couple of
pages and I didn’t see any posts blaming Muslims.
