Confirmed by police about half an hour ago that the 35 year old arrested has been released without charge.

I'm fairly sure your average bloke that might go out rioting is not avidly reading "The Posts of Leavesfalling" on Mumsnet and getting radicalised.

But thank you I suppose for your suggestion that I have that much influence over the opinion of the UK population.

You know full well what you're doing.

HPFA · 02/11/2025 21:54

You know full well what you're doing.

I have greater faith in your knowledge of what I am doing than I do.

As far as I know I'm just saying that not many people trust Keir Starmer. Does that mean I am saying something nefarious? I thought I was being entirely reasonable. Who does trust Keir Starmer to tell us the truth? I can see obvious reasons why he wouldn't. I'm just not stupid enough to believe everything a politician says. Are you?

BIossomtoes · 02/11/2025 21:23

It wasn’t. The police have confirmed it wasn’t.

I don’t know if I believe them. We know they lie if it serves their purpose, and they believe this would serve their purpose. They worry more about the criminal and keeping things under wraps “for the community” (the community being Muslims) everyone else doesn’t matter or have a voice in the “community.”

AzurePanda · 02/11/2025 22:01

@nomas actually the police statement was that at this stage the incident is not being treated as a terrorist attack. That is not the same as a declaration that it is definitively not terrorist related.

TeaAndCock · 02/11/2025 22:02

Leavesfalling · 02/11/2025 21:35

Personally I assumed that @TeaandCock was a bot herself with that post.

Why? Do bots often suspect others are bots 😂.

And to the other poster that asked if it is because others have different views to me, it’s different to the old mumsnet norm, which of course always had some right wingers but imo not so much of the moronic racist types. Don’t care what anybody says about that take, racist people are stupid people.

Terrytheweasel · 02/11/2025 22:04

Efacsen · 02/11/2025 18:47

Why do you think the police are examining his 'health history' having already said earlier that they don;t think it's terrorism related?

My question was why the op thinks because it’s one person and not two, automatically means it’s not terrorism. A terrorist can also be mentally unwell and British and acting alone. I would also suspect most terrorists are mentally unstable.

I think you’ll remain disappointed.

lifeturnsonadime · 02/11/2025 22:07

I don't agree with everything that @EasternStandard posts but I can assure you she is not racist.

OP @WeCouldBeNiceToEachOther are you going to apologise as that is a pretty serious allegation to make against a regular poster?

I guess the problem is that your perception of racism will vary with other people’s idea of racism.

There is an abusive (and presumably mentally unwell) man who lives near where I work. He’s usually drinking on the street at 9 o’clock in the morning and shouts and swears at passers by, including on one occasion, a pregnant woman. Why are these people allowed to roam the streets? He should be in an institution where he can get the appropriate support, rather than being allowed to shout and scream at members of the public.

Yes so there is a man who strolls outside our local hospital always drunk and very intimidating and not very well. A little while ago he punched me in the face in an unprovoked attack causing damage to my jaw. I called the police after I had ran back inside so who asked if he was still there I said I don’t know I’m not out there … could you go and check? 🙈🙈

anyway they arrested him and he got bail this was the second time he has punched a nurse.
he then got bail conditions and broke them returning to the hospital go re arrested.
let out again on bail and then did not turn up to court was found guilty because of CCTV was very clear … no prison setence.

his still strolling in the same place now daily.

AzurePanda · 02/11/2025 22:11

@nomas I have absolutely no idea how you come to the conclusion that I would be somehow disappointed if it transpired the attack has no basis in ideology. Equally I have no idea how you’ve come to any conclusions as to the motivations of the attacker.

WeeGeeBored · 02/11/2025 22:14

TheSpottedZebra · 02/11/2025 18:21

It's awful isn't it. Poor man.
In custody overnight just for neing a black guy on a train.

Imagine what that has done to HIS mental health. This will stay with him forever.

EasternStandard · 02/11/2025 20:47

Can you quote what you mean specifically?

I saw your posts, going on about Muslims when there is no suggestion that the culprit was Muslim.

Your agenda is obvious.

Because you are obsessed with it being terrorism, when anyone with common sense can see there is an issue with black men not receiving MH care.

Are you suggesting people couldn’t be outraged at racist attacks against them perpetrated by those that absolutely despise them? That we should just meekly accept Islamic attacks on our soil and shrug our shoulders?

EasternStandard · Today 09:40
They do seem to be.

I don’t think so. Can you quote which one you mean. Copy and paste it here.

I questioned a poster who talked about it being definite re the religion as it hadn’t been confirmed either way.

Well, here we have it. The system is utterly messed up, no law and order.

Do more knowledgeable mumsnetters, e.g. lawyers, police etc know why this man is allowed to harass nurses?

And where are all of the protestors?

AzurePanda · 02/11/2025 22:29

@nomas in what way am I obsessed with it being terrorism? I simply corrected your misleading statement that the police have declared that it is not terrorist attack. All they have said is that they are not treating it as a terrorist attack at this stage. That’s the sum total of my entire comments on the subject. Hardly an obsession.
