Everyone here will automatically support their comrade and anyone questioning the left wing mantra must be, as you say ‘a twat’. Such is life. It’s a cross I will bear. For the greater good..

Oh Lord! this again. I’m a naturally right-leaning floating voter who agrees Labour have a problem listening to the views of women. Strangely (or not) I rub along just fine with the posters on this thread. It is beyond tedious to be poked and scolded as a ‘Lefty’ by posters from other threads who are…..what? Bored?

No. As I said above. I was correcting untruths about sexism / misogyny. Not scolding. It’s important.

Saucery · 04/11/2025 19:44

Rexinasaurus · 04/11/2025 19:42

Yes please do. Not attention seeking at all. Just correcting untruths. It’s not very well appreciated though, of course. I understand.

Correcting untruths like we’re all ‘comrades’ who unquestionably support Labour, you mean?
But @Efacsen is right. Ploppers gonna plop, best not to engage.

I’ve not insulted anyone, have I?? But I have been insulted several times.

Awww sounds like your job is done here doesn't it, give yourself a pat on the back

John Crace was equally unimpressed. The stress is clearly taking a toll, she’s lost a lot of weight.

I agree with you - she does not look well.

I would not wish that level of stress on anyone.

I am catching up with some Netflix. Really enjoying Stranger Things (I am a late adopter) although it is a bit derivative.

We just finished Slow Horses but that's not on Netflix.

Waiting for GBBO to start.

No, you said this. Which is utter, goady bollocks, as you know very well. Anyway, here I am engaging, more fool me. Not any more, though Smile

Karistyleaftea · 04/11/2025 19:47

Goodnight all, off to watch the final.

Is all a bit insulting, is it not? You didn't have to include any of this in your post. It would have made perfect sense without it.

We are on an Apple run atm. Finished Slow Horses, Down Cemetary Road is looking good so far, The Last Frontier is amazing and Pluribus starts in a few weeks. Stranger Things new series soon, Fallout back in December iirc. Love some good Autumn TV.

I’ve just finished the last episode of Season 4 - also a latecomer! Thoroughly enjoyed it, and looking forward to Season 5, which starts on 26 November.

Not an insult, just advice, you don't like the thread, the people on it, their beliefs....

Quite honestly it was advice honestly and without bias given.

Having differing views isn't the issue.

I'm unashamedly LOLing at the assertion that you and others here) are a raging leftie 😂😅🤣ROFL.

As a gen X-er, am I free to emote as I please?

Ok point taken. Gentle words though, compared to the words used towards me… however as always, it’s one rule for some and another for t’others.

It’s a shame that no one has said yes we know Labour has a woman problem. It’s shit but we’re / they’re trying to sort it out. And this is how. Or yes we know they’re misogynistic but we still prefer them to the Tories (in fact one pp might have said that actually - well done). It’s a shame.

PickAChew · 04/11/2025 19:55

I think you got all our weather. Today has been like they just turned it off, here. 14 degrees and grey. Barely any breeze.

DH and I have just finished working our way through Those Who Kill and are now catching up on The Diplomat.

BIossomtoes · 04/11/2025 19:58

Bake Off time. See you all when I know who wins.

I literally just said that ^^
Proof, not that we needed it, that you’re just here to goad and not engage. A weird social media hobby, but you do you Hmm

Notonthestairs · 04/11/2025 20:00

Only started Slow Horses a week ago. Really struggling not binge - only 6 episodes per season seems really short.

I think a lot about putting Lamb’s coat on a hot wash. I fear dry cleaning wouldn’t touch the sides. And I’m obsessed with Lady Di’s wardrobe. KST is bloody magnificent.

@Nolletimiere Germany spends 31% on welfare and they are the 3rd biggest economy .

That’s an interesting stat.

Do you know why they have a better economy even though their welfare bill is higher?

They also have better healthcare - they were used as an example during Covid as they managed the healthcare side so well.

I am curious about something. Do you think calling a woman a "wicked witch" is misogynistic?

dontcallmelen · 04/11/2025 20:04

I’m watching Harry Wild on Drama it’s a bit formulaic has some humour so redeems it a bit.
very windy & mild here mixed in with a bit of rain.

I wonder if having a strong manufacturing base makes a difference, presuming of course they still do I used to like getting insights from BCF on everyday German life learning about the health system/elections they were very informative.
