And just maybe if we didn’t have ideological austerity, the wrecking ball that was taken to mental health services/sure start etc being utterly & woefully underprepared for the pandemic the & the fallout from that the millions more children living in poverty/insecure sub standard housing/sanctions just maybe the welfare bill would be a lot less but it’s so much easier to blame the feckless the workshy rather than own up to not giving a fuck about the vulnerable the sick & disadvantaged

Don't you know? 'Left leaning women need to stay in their lane, if they come out of it, the 'right and shamefully, some on the left/centre will do all they can to put them back in their lane

Rayner wasn't attacked because of her beliefs or her policies but because she was a woman, who dared to better herself.

It was constant, Only a care worker, Only a union rep, Teenage pregnancy, Slept her way to the top, Council Tax, CGT, buying a council house, selling a council house...

Hunt on the other hand bought 7 flats to avoid stamp duty... who cares? Sunak pays 22% tax on millions... who cares....

No on one the 'right

No. You’re showing your incoherent bias. You token mention ‘and some shamefully on the left /centre’ but you don’t really want to.

This though - come on. Even the ants in Chile know that Labour and the left have a woman problem. They always have had. Trade unions too notoriously misogynist / sexist. How many female PMs has Labour had. How many female leaders?

‘Is it starting to look like Labour has a women problem? It certainly is for the 7,000-strong group of women members, councillors and activists who make up Labour Women’s Declaration and had a stall at last year’s party conference refused.

It is for Lesbian Labour, who were also stopped from exhibiting at last year’s conference. It is for Dr Karen Ingala-Smith, the formidable feminist campaigner who compiles a list of women killed in the UK each year which is then read out in Parliament by Jess Phillips every International Women’s Day, and who had her membership rejected after she made a few gender-critical joke tweets featuring kittens.

And of course it is for me, ostracised for voicing not only my own opinions but those of thousands of others who are starting to question the Party they have dedicated so much of their lives to.

In each case, a woman who dared to voice an opinion was ignored or neglected. One of the traits of being in an abusive relationship is “stonewalling”. The abuser will go quiet for days on end. They will stew, not speak to you, turn their back on you. Trust me when I say I don’t take this lightly: but what I feel now, after six years of being cold-shouldered by the Labour Party, conjures memories of how I felt in that abusive relationship. When I come home at night, I feel low-level trauma at my political isolation.’

The Labour Party has a woman problem

I know how it feels to be in an abusive relationship

@Nolletimiere what exactly is your purpose on posting on this thread?

If you want to spread misery on your toast, don't share it, eat it.

I love cats, I love the photos. I could look through cat photos for ages. All animals I suppose. But no it’s not that that keeps me viewing. Or ‘monitoring’ in your commie lingo. It’s the fact I decide to read alternate views to my own, to keep a semblance of balance. But sometimes I read such utter twaddle (such as above, I can’t help but comment). I know I know it’s not ideal. Everyone here will automatically support their comrade and anyone questioning the left wing mantra must be, as you say ‘a twat’. Such is life. It’s a cross I will bear. For the greater good..

Automatically support their comrade

Such twaddle

It really isn't that hard not to comment.

Even if it had been bad for the UK (which it would have) ?

It was bad for the U.K. anyway

More insults. Love and light on the left.

There wouldn’t be any insults if you didn’t come on to a thread purely to be provocative.

I am a bit obsessed with cats, yes!

DuncinToffee · 04/11/2025 19:39

Attention seekers I think. Does anyone remember that time we got told off for bullying by posters from soap threads, that was interesting

I am having a cup of tea and a stroopwafel, Lidl ones

Look, if you want to comment when you have the urge that is all well and good, but there's no need to insult the posters on here. You have t'other thread for that. Let's keep it civil?

Efacsen · 04/11/2025 19:40

Can't we go back to ignoring/non-engagement - so much attention seeking

I didn’t. I don’t. I posted here because a pp posted about sexism and misogyny being a right wing issue (with a bit of left / centre). Which is just not true. It is very far from true. The left and Labour are known to be shit for women. As RD detailed so clearly. I’m sorry you think that’s provocative but it’s important. As women we get enough shit in life, we don’t need it to be institutionalised like it is within the Labour Party. The truth hurts, sorry about that.

Efacsen · 04/11/2025 19:40

Yes please do. Not attention seeking at all. Just correcting untruths. It’s not very well appreciated though, of course. I understand.

Oh Lord! this again. I’m a naturally right-leaning floating voter who agrees Labour have a problem listening to the views of women. Strangely (or not) I rub along just fine with the posters on this thread. It is beyond tedious to be poked and scolded as a ‘Lefty’ by posters from other threads who are…..what? Bored?

I am catching up with some Netflix. Really enjoying Stranger Things (I am a late adopter) although it is a bit derivative.

I’ve not insulted anyone, have I?? But I have been insulted several times.

Karistyleaftea · 04/11/2025 19:43

I am still supporting Labour.
I want them to succeed.
I don't think it is necessary to call me a "comrade" because of this but hey, @Rexinasaurus , you do you.

Not an insult, just advice, you don't like the thread, the people on it, their beliefs....

Quite honestly it was advice honestly and without bias given.

Having differing views isn't the issue.
