Things I don’t do…that apparently everyone else DOES do…

Tonight I put some Nivea on my face but apart from taking my makeup off each day, I don’t have a skin care routine and I don’t use moisturiser that often.

Other things I don’t do…I don’t make the bed every day (might straighten it, but that’s it), I don’t keep takeaway boxes (does anyone?) and I don’t send Christmas cards (never miss a birthday though).

What things do you not do…that most other people seem to do? This is a ‘no judgement’ thread. 😆

Cleansing and moisturising is a routine to me. What do you do now?

They’re designed as single use plastics so will shed microplastics into your food if heated/ reused for storage, and also aren’t properly airtight so are not suitable for freezer storage.

I don't wear make up or have a skin care routine.
I iron my clothes (but no one else's)
I don't send Christmas cards
I don't buy from Amazon, Temu, Shein, or similar
I never want to do a WFH job - the best part about working for me is being around other people!

I rarely get takeaway, but do reuse the plastic boxes for eg nuts and dried fruit mix, putting something in the fridge (eg baked beans) taking eg side salad to work. They go well through the dishwasher. Single use plastic doesn’t sit too comfortably, so actively try to find opportunities to reuse them.

With you on the bed, but it’s just a duvet and fitted sheet so doesn’t requiring any actual ‘making’ except when changing bedding.

I do like skincare though since a teenager when it wasn’t common. I wouldn’t do Botox etc through.

Don’t watch TV anymore so don’t know many reality show ‘celebrities’ and haven’t heard of some of the shows if they get mentioned in conversation.

Like a few on here it seems never got into platforms like Facebook, TikTok etc.

Hate the effect AI has had on the level of writing and errors in the news as well as people that use it at work for their emails making it 10x harder to read and interpret, as it’s not actually coming from that person.

I rarely drink.
I no longer drive.

I seldom eat out nor do I buy takeaways.

for full disclosure, I rarely iron and my skincare routine is very much soap and Nivea based. But I do have one and I brushed my teeth and I make sure that my lower legs are hair free. This is in the pursuit of a reasonable sex life, which is what I have.

I don't go to the hairdressers (my hair is waist-length, I trim it myself, no way am I letting one of those butchers near it)

I dont wear make up, never had my nails or toenails done. Never plucked my eyebrows, and never waxed and have had a good sex life with multiple people for 25 years, why would the lack of makeup amd other things not allow this 🤣🤣

That’s understandably and maybe speaks more about my own thoughts about female sexuality.

I don’t shop in person. I have everything I possibly can delivered and can’t actually remember the last time I physically went into a store. It’s great. I hate shopping, particularly for groceries.

I don’t drink any hot drinks and have never tried tea.
I have no social media except mumsnet,
I have never been to a baby shower and only one hen night,
I have never been to a festival.
I have never watched dirty dancing, when Harry met Sally, Ghost or many other chick flicks.
I have never been early for anything 😂.

I have done plenty of other things that I’m sure aren’t that common, it’d be interesting to see a reverse thread!

As for me:
I don't drink alcohol to unwind
I don't think about Christmas (plans, food, gifts, decorating) until the first full weekend in December
I don't watch or listen to anything 'live' - only 'on demand' TV and audio content from apps
I don't play or like background noise while I'm awake but need it to sleep
I don't shop for clothes online (the exception is repeats of things I already own)

I actually get my eyebrows threaded and have no clue what it means either?!? I just lie there, there’s some string kind of pulled about my eyes, and I leave with lovely shaped brows 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

That’s where I stop though. I don’t use skin care or make up or style my hair (apart from a simple brush, obviously). I have no social media and I do not understand (and have no interest in) chatGPT or Alexa. I don’t shower every day. I don’t have a cleaner. I don’t like dogs and think we do them great harm by taking them everywhere humans go. I don’t answer my door or my phone unless I know who it is and I’m expecting them. I don’t eat breakfast and I hate coffee. I don’t understand candles.

I've been attracted to every man I've ever had sex with. Only one wore makeup, and I'd rank him somehow in the middle of the list in terms of satisfaction. So based on personal experience, I'd say your makeup theory doesn't hold true.
