likely to be a pillar of society himself considering that he’s also in a category A prison, And that often these attacks/killings are out of some petty dispute and not out of “principle”.

I’m not one bit sorry that he’s dead but his killer is hardly to be lauded either.

You want to give a murder, rapist or possibly a peadophile a medal? They won’t have been a shoplifter or someone dodging their TV licence.

Little lamented as he will likely be, his sentence was 29 years in prison, not death.

It is very worrying that this was able to happen. It makes a mockery of our justice system and having a judicial process, if we can't keep prisoners safe.

Quite. If someone is doing such a long stretch that it makes no difference to them if a murder sentence gets tagged on, they have probably caused a great deal of misery themselves (possibly also to children).

I think it's disgusting that in a rich country, we cannot keep our prisoners safe. If someone as high profile as him can be killed, anyone could be. I don't wish that for our prisoners.
Unfortunately it's not a rarity by any means and 5+ prisoners are murdered most years, with dozens more near misses.
And if you have never had cause to worry about the safety of someone in prison, then you are incredibly privileged and probably would do well not to comment.

I have two family members who have done long stretches in prison. No I don’t worry, they brought it on themselves. Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time. I have zero sympathy. The rest of us have managed through life without resorting to crime. They are despicable as far as I am concerned. Men who defile children, or babies in this case, are always going to be targets. There will always be prisoners who will
find a way to end them. You can’t blame the prison service. He’s got what he deserved.

@Notmymarmosets do you know why Ian Watkins was in prison? Im shocked it took 12 years for his inevitable murder to happen. If it hadnt of happened in prison it would of happened on his release.
