A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Like the point about green votes sucking up the 16 year olds 🤣

Upstartled · 07/10/2025 17:03

I bloody love a real Christmas tree but the bastards, or more particularly the mould spores on them that grow indoors, can make me wheeze. So I'm resigned to a plastic one. If I spend too much time lurking on the Christmas board then the lure of a Balsam Hill tree sneaks up on me but I'll stick with my ancient but sturdy B&Q one for another year.

Personally I get jumpy if posters say even the greens are too batshit for the average voter. It’s like tempting fate.

(my autocarrot corrected batshit to vatshit at first… that’s telling too)

Like saying Candyman three times in the mirror? 😬😂 Never overestimate the electorate

StillFeelingTired · 07/10/2025 17:10

Or Beetlejuice. Shudder.

Upstartled · 07/10/2025 17:14

Oh, yeah, Polanski does have a bit of Beetlejuice about him. Totally fits with the manifesting big boobs vibes.

I know the feeling.

Electorate - hold my beer!

I'm not sure Lord Heseltine holds much sway anymore, particularly during a conference marking Thatcher's 100th birthday. Has he spoken at the conference, or was this on sm?

String on a door knob 🫣

Does anyone remember their parents doing that to you.

With a milk tooth, you'd have to get the power tools out to dig out a wisdom tooth.

We have plastic too.

Do you have a particular issue with me today @justasking111?
I'd rather you just spell it out, or better still, keep scrolling.

We discuss allsorts on this thread, as you will have noticed.

No just baffled at the sudden Christmas trees. Thought MN was playing up at first

Yep, you should definitely stick to artificial 😂.

I might put the plastic one up again, and try some of those scent sticks.

Oh no 😂 Yes, a real tree is a liability.

Apparently the woman who was cutting the ribbons today was an Art Council funded PhD student who is writing a thesis on haunting and the supernatural in Palestinian territories.

I'm just going to leave that there without comment 😗

I like a bit of side chat to keep things jolly. It seems to roll along uneventfully between the politics.

I assumed that your pp was barbed,.and aimed at me. I apologise if that's not the case.
These threads are often tangential. I like that though, it's nice to lighten the mood sometimes.
