A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I wonder how they’ll spin this change because they also have good reason to remove the tax on education
Its immoral !

Well if the WFA u turn is anything to go by, they won't admit that they were wrong. They will say that Labour has done such an amazing job of 'fixing the foundations', and improving the economy, that they can now afford to loosen it.

Of course. How anyone buys this stuff is utterly bizarre.

They can keep back pedalling but until they’re out the door and give the keys back.

If that does happen and they roll out that reason, you can take a bow, @TheNuthatch - and our suspicions about lurkers will be confirmed.😙

Approval wise, but it would still be good news for farmers if they reformed that policy, fingers crossed! It may be about trying to win over the previous labour votes they’ve lost by looking as though they’re listening.

They've lost farmers now (if they ever had them). All the ones around us are now voting Reform as they tell everyone in the pub on a Saturday 😆

100% that's what they will say. Labour cultists will buy it but noone else will because the rest of the country can see through them.

True. The last few 'fiscal' policy announcements they have produced I have just muttered; 'Can we just skip straight to the u-turn please?'.

Little mood lightener.
Lunch today was supposed to be poached eggs on toast. The microwave and I had a falling out (must have been the popcorn function starting the dissent) and the bloody eggs exploded. So just toast for lunch and a massive clean-up operation. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Aww an opinion piece but my, the guardian Has fallen out with Keir Starmer.

Worried about rising bills and getting by? Keir Starmer has the answer: try chewing a flag!

And funnily enough it’s actually the wealth inequality gap this article is really talking about. Of course, Labour aren’t addressing it and they will be gone in 3.5years (and counting), as a result.

If the Tories do something (or rather tell us exactly what they will do), about the economy and immigration, they might stand a chance. I don’t want Labour, and I don’t want reform either.

We had a very rare white bread loaf yesterday as DH made soup so I bought a Tiger loaf. We never have white bread and there was about 1/4 of loaf left so I have scoffed it all for lunch with salted butter on 😋
DD is going to be fuming when she gets home 🤣

Talking about eggs,

I've been running like a blue-arsed fly all day long.

Walked the bloody dogs, went to work, walked the bloody dogs again and managed just now to have some fried eggs and tea. Then off to work again.

Where did it go wrong? I keep looking at the bloody idiot dogs and keep thinking maybe I should have had cats instead?

Then I would have been happy to listed to the nonsense du jour and cheer for Starmer?
I blame the dogs.
