Just that. Was chatting with a friend who thinks its really unusual in anyone under 80 😆

So answer please…
A — yes always
B — sometimes, if the cooking is particularly messy

B - 61. But i usually remember to put it on after I've splashed something.
DS -28 used to wear one if he was cooking dinner straight after work, and still wearing his work clothes.
He took it with him when he moved out so assume he still wears it.

ToldYouTwiceAlready · 01/10/2025 21:25

For all those who have lost clothes to grease stains: try a wonderful product called Janie’s Stick. Available online or from John Lewis. Works every time. So long as you haven’t put the garment through the wash before you use it!

A soak in washing up liquid does the same.

It's just another thing that will ultimately need washing and isn't worth it

minipie · 01/10/2025 22:05

I suspect the deciding factor is not so much age as : 1) how much do you cook on the hob, and 2) did your own mother wear one?

limescale · 01/10/2025 22:07

B 55

Portakalkedi · 01/10/2025 22:10

Old. I have different aprons for cooking, cleaning, painting and dressmaking. Just sewn a batch of lovely Japanese style crossover ones.
