Just that. Was chatting with a friend who thinks its really unusual in anyone under 80 😆

So answer please…
A — yes always
B — sometimes, if the cooking is particularly messy
C — never

and how old are you?

Me - A 56

C - 40. Although I don’t really cook!! I do bake occasionally but no pinny here.
Dh is 47, does all the cooking but also has never worn an apron.

MissyB1 · 01/10/2025 20:18

A - 57 always for cooking and housework.

mathanxiety · 01/10/2025 20:19

Always, 60

Teenagerantruns · 01/10/2025 20:21

C 58 , and im a chef...

LollyWillow · 01/10/2025 20:33

B - 61. More often than not tbh, but not always; if I'm just reheating or putting something in the oven I don't bother. That said, I always wear an apron for housework and I have a special denim apron for gardening. I think I have 6 in total.

Arrrrrrragghhh · 01/10/2025 20:39

C - 54. I hate faff. I just put clothes in the wash ( and not wear nice clothes to cook in).
My Christmas dress is the only exception. Maybe.

Etoile12345 · 01/10/2025 20:52

A - 47. Always have and my mum always did too!

Funnywonder · 01/10/2025 20:54

C - I’m 58. I just can’t be bothered. It’s an extra step to add to the cooking process and, although it might not seem like much, it would just be another thing for me to procrastinate about. I just get changed if I get splattered, but only if I have to be seen in public😆

But I am planning to get one...I have ruined so many tops while cooking and realise now that my mum was on to something lol

Greebosmum · 01/10/2025 21:07

A. 64. Wear an apron for all housework

Meadowflower2023 · 01/10/2025 21:08

And I have two types, dark and shorter for sauce and splatter, longer and lighter for flour matter.

I am wondering if my cooking is just exceptionally unadventurous but how do you all get food all over yourselves!?

squashyhat · 01/10/2025 21:12

Hell yes. 64. Eating as well most meals. My washing machine would be going 24/7 if I didn't.

dontcomeatme · 01/10/2025 21:13

A and I'm 32. Habit passed on from my nana x

What she said. ⬆️

whoopsnomore · 01/10/2025 21:17

C - 59 but starting to think it would be quite cool to have a nice linen/tough cotton French artisanal one. (Mum wore a nylon housecoat then upgraded to a navy cotton stripey one)

Jackrabbit22 · 01/10/2025 21:18

A 58, but I am very messy.

BB49 · 01/10/2025 21:19

C - 49 years old. I have one but would never think to wear it!
