A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Just watching Lammy being interviewed, amongst other things he asserted was, "Rachel's doing a fine job for the economy." 🙄

Yes she is - the black economy 😂

Like him or hate him, Farage definitely has the upper hand when it comes to swift and incisive repartee. Every time those two get into debate KS always ends up resembling a freshly-landed cod with popping eyes and flapping lips. It doesn't nothing for whatever street cred he has left - and he didn't have much in the first place.

It stinks, but I can't find anything official on that yet?
I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's true. Like father, like son.

Agreed. I’ve looked for more information too. Surprising that we can’t find anything on the internet, about these corrupt billionaire tech giants isn’t it. Shocking really.

I mean he spent some of that time pleading - in a roundabout way talking about a labour of yesteryear - with the supporters to stop labelling everyone as racists - that it's patronising and it's hurting the cause. It will fall on deaf ears though because tarring anyone with concerns around immigration as racist and slinging shit at them for sport has become the new moral reflex and distraction technique to hide the ineptitude of this government.

Did he? He just did that they’re all racist thing. Bizarre.

This battle stuff is also bizarre. Perhaps he really is fighting for his job with his own party.

Whilst voters just think sod you.

Surely this is some sort of conflict of interest and shouldn’t be allowed. I know someone else mentioned this on the previous thread. Yet more vomit from Labour.

Multiverse....the Company chosen to produce the UK's Digital ID app..... was founded by... Euan Blair...... Yup.... the SON of former Labour PM: TONY BLAIR

How can this be? The idea was only just introduced. When was it publicly tendered? Surely this is a home office purchase. As a central government office anything over £139,668 must be publicly, openly and transparently tendered. This could easily take 9 months or more.

I hope some journalists are putting in some FOIA requests.

I read this has been in the pipeline since well before Labour came in

Ive also seen Blair’s sons company in relation to the IDs aswell

Its been a closely guarded secret it seems

Wonder If that’s one of the companies Trumps talking about for Gaza 🤔

Yeah, I watched the whole thing from home and he talked about how the Labour of before patronised the working class in their concerns about immigration by assuming they were racist.

And then he framed this as a thing of the past. It was the same technique he used to rap Burnham over the knuckles - but only by talking about reckless Tory finances.

Upstartled · 30/09/2025 18:21

I think this snip I found on the Telegraph came after the above and looked like this in summing up.

Starmer: “Yes, conference, there are still some people who can’t listen in good faith on this issue, people who say we can ignore the crisis in our asylum system as long as we keep the economy moving. The British people are not unreasonable, they are decent, pragmatic, tolerant [...] Yes, they want secure borders, and that is a reasonable demand. Now we should always say plainly and with pride that asylum for people genuinely fleeing persecution is the mark of a decent, compassionate country.

“But secure borders are also vital for a decent, compassionate country. There’s nothing compassionate or progressive in a vile trade that loads people into overcrowded boats, puts them in dangerous condition in the Channel and ultimately exploits hope. So mark my words, we will smash the gangs and we will secure Britain’s borders.”

Does he just forget what he said a couple of days ago?

The whole they are racist headline. Nuts.

Yes, it's completely schizophrenic.

It cannot be done in secret by definition. Something this valuable must be publicly tendered on the appropriate government website.

I heard on a podcast that the home office wanted nothing to do with digital ID. Its been given to Liz Kendall. Not sure if that makes any difference?

I don't think Labour have done any work on this at all. They've just announced it in desperation without any clue of the details.

I was expecting at least a hint of something on the budget as I’m stressing about that
No real clues though

He said working people a lot recently recently. I suppose the retired are irrelevant the economically inactive not expected to be interested and the 16 to 18 year olds an unknown quantity.

Plantatreetoday · 30/09/2025 18:54

Cost = £3.5billion. From ???

Upstartled · 30/09/2025 18:57

I'm worried they don't even care.

It doesn’t matter which central government department it is. The same rules apply. If it wasn’t an open, competitive tender, it is a scandal and the procurement laws have been broken.

The magic money tree which is also paying for digital ID programme.

More fucking spending, more debt, more taxes. This is the socialist doom loop and why they are always followed by 2-3 terms of wilderness.

Parsley4321 · 30/09/2025 19:50

How can they lift the two child cap what complete idiots mind you 65% of the population is in favour of the cap so not a great idea

Because they are just checking red meat out left right and centre. It's panic stations time which 100% cements in my mind that it's slash and burn time
