A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

This seems like a knowledgeable place

am I right in thinking that today/yesterday we've had

School children involved with a party conference - hmmmmmmm

David Lammy referencing something Farage denied ages ago - but to be quite honest, I'm not sure what he was doing. Is it possible he's dumb enough not to know When the Hitler youth existed? I know Farah was accused of singing Hitler youth songs at school. Is that what Lammy meant?

Powell complaining about women's rights

And I'm not sure if it's today or yesterday, but Starmer has referenced "plastic patriots" and I'm wondering if he means me, i.e. he's actually acknowledging that there are people from ethnic minorities who are also worried about immigration and that's maybe the least offensive term he could find to describe us?

Or is a plastic patriot a fake patriot, I can't keep up.

Oh, and we've also had the Home secretary , basically saying that she thought everyone at the UTK rally was a racist.

and Owen Jones and another prominent journalist whose name I can't remember, I think Matthew somebody, actual labour supporters, banned from the conference by having their press passes revoked.

Is that a fair summary?

This isn't going to get any better is it?

Sure: Cut and paste because I'm out of shares till tomorrow:

"She said: “I think we have got some of the language not right on this, and particularly around some of the guidance that’s coming forward.
“I really strongly feel like we need a robust and transparent parliamentary conversation about that, because when we’re looking at applying the law as parliamentarians, we should have a say on that and that’s something I’ll be pushing for as well.”
Sources close to Ms Powell said she believed MPs should have the power to influence the rules because they will become law."

Very concerning. This is a very Labour day. I hope their voters are enjoying it.

EmpressoftheMundane · 30/09/2025 21:48

Flipping heck! They are willing to go against the ECHR, something they had held sacrosanct, to ensure blokes can hang out in the ladies room.

This won’t improve their popularity.

I think that's an accurate summary. However, I cannot explain what Starmer or Lammy mean when they speak. That remains a mystery to me.

‘Sir Keir compared the challenge before Labour now to Clement Attlee's administration in 1945 as it rebuilt Britain from the ruins of the Second World War.’

EH????

‘The PM said: 'It is a test. A fight for the soul of our country, every bit as big as rebuilding Britain after the war, and we must all rise to this challenge.
'And yet we need to be clear that our path, the path of renewal, it's long, it's difficult, it requires decisions that are not cost-free or easy. Decisions that will not always be comfortable for our party.
'Yet at the end of this hard road there will be a new country, a fairer country, a land of dignity and respect.’

EH????

'Everyone seen, everyone valued, wealth creation in every single community, working people in control of their public services, the mindless bureaucracy that chokes enterprise, removed – so we can build and keep on building.'

What planet is this short mentally stunted Marxist freak living on?

👏 👏 👏

Can we add Darren Jones in contention for crazy speaking without comprehension award today?

I feel like my head might explode if I absorb any more batshittery today. DH has banned me from News at 10.

What has pocket-money been saying? Dare I ask?

I wonder what Dulwich College thinks about Lammy's implication that they were singing HY songs in the 1970s and 80s. Unless Lammy is suggesting it was when Farage was Prep school. Perhaps he would like to clarify?

Upstartled · 30/09/2025 22:20

He said...The government has met its policy of not increasing tax but now it's tomorrow today. And when asked what the hell does that mean, he said, Don't worry about it. 😂

TheNuthatch · 30/09/2025 16:33

No. I think Labour are deliberately ignoring her to paint her as irrelevant. Its one less flank they have to fight on.

Standard male bullying tactic to undermine uppity women they don't like.

They are so transparently misogynistic.

They’re sinking aren’t they? We’re heading for more tax and spend because too many demand more.

Threads are nuts today, there’s no limit to what people want.

Yes, lots of posters who'd like to see more spending but can only shrug their shoulders when asked where the money is coming from or seem to care what will happen to the vulnerable if the whole system grinds to an indebted halt.

My favourite thing is watching NF squirm when he is accused of racist politics.

The fact that Labour were given a 5 year clear mandate. I am not even interested in politics in 2025. However I actually chuckle under my breath when people whine about the Government destroying their life....

I'm depressed, I'm obese, I can't get a partner, I don't have many friends, I'm lonely, I have a dead end job, why do we have immigration??? KEIR STARMER is 100% to blame for my sad existence 😂😅😁

You are responsible for your desperation renember that - go look in the mirror and see what failure looks like 👍 Farage doesn't care about losers.

I had a feeling we'd get a visitor tonight. We usually do when the left think that Starmer has had a good day.

They'll all be howling at the moon tonight after his speech 😂.

Night all x
