On a different topic I just received an emergency alert about a storm to my phone here in Ibiza and nobody melted down about government control, they just looked and turned it off 🤷‍♀️
Flight tracker says my flight later on is going to be ok though (at least so far). V spectacular storm for about an hour and a half. Road a bit of a stream. Clearing over now though. Fingers crossed everyone.
Farage is indeed an eel. An eel
with no control of his party/company.

The med is a huge sea, with many islands. Weather events happen. Have a good flight Cardi.

Outrage 😅

You wouldn't believe the number of morons on Twitter pretending that a temporary exhibition of vinyl stickers at Canterbury Cathedral is permanent graffiti, just so they can feel outraged. Then JD Vance joins in, because clearly this is an international crisis.

They wouldn’t appreciate my local cathedral- they have all sorts of art installations there.

PandoraSocks · 12/10/2025 10:14

The outrage is ridiculous. I don't think Jesus would mind at all. He was all for communicating with people, which is what this is all about?

Apart from anything else, there is a long history of graffiti in churches. I wonder if there were meltdowns about this Medieval graffiti in the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Ashwell?

Don't tell them about the stone masons

It’s really amusing that the need for outrage is so strong. I bet most of the frothers never cross the threshold of a church from one decade to the next.

PandoraSocks · 12/10/2025 10:33

I am fed up with the whining from the right about every little thing. At the same time, I feel a bit sorry for them. It must be awful to be so miserable, always on the look out for something to be outraged about.

In real life, people just seem to be getting on with things, much as they have always done. The cost of food is bloody outrageous though. Oops. I am whining! 🤣

SerendipityJane · 12/10/2025 10:34

I suspect Vance really thinks churches are taking up valuable space that banks could use much more profitably.

Yes! There was a chap on LBC moaning about getting his country back. He mentioned Christianity. The presenter asked him if he was a regular church goer. Let's just say his answer was as fudgy as a Cadbury's finger.

InMySpareTime · 12/10/2025 12:03

Don’t let the church frothers know, but I hid a load of tiny Jesuses in my church just for the fun of seeing them whenever I’m there.

It is interesting that people bang on about Britishness and the associated culture and traditions yet do nothing to support it if it's in any way church related. My local CofE church used to have a police officer in attendance 40 years ago to manage the crowds for the midnight mass service. Last year we had nine attendees and are considering not doing the service this year at all.

It's almost as if the much vaunted culture of which they speak is something for other people to do...

I rarely meet "Christians" who can quote as much of the Bible as I can.

If a fundamental knowledge of your rule book isn't a pre requisite of being a Christian, then why waste time with charity and love and doing Gods will ?

It's very much only Christians can be white attitude - and I have a bridge to sell to them.

The people on protests/Tommy marches - they are so, so angry. I wouldn’t wish to be them.
It is anger on an unjustifiable scale imo - I can grasp they are worried about asylum seekers if they believe all the msm rubbish but to be so intensely angry about individual people, exercising their right to say ‘well I’m not’ has surprised me. Practically frothing, shouting horrible abuse, and getting violent - yes, I’m angry at them following that cause, but don’t feel individual hatred to each of them to the point I could attack them.
The London anti racist marchers set up a mini disco whilst kettled - can’t imagine the flag ones doing so. They are beyond bitter and must have very difficult lives at such levels of anger and upset - I actually don’t get that level at all - it would have to be an intensely personal and excessive trauma that inspired me to be that angry I think.

I had 50, but lots have been found and taken.
there are 7 left that I don’t think will be found, but I know where they are and it amuses me to see them hiding in plain sight.
One ended up in the pastor’s washing machine (presumably via a pocket) and they sent me a photo of Jesus mid-cycle against the glass door.
I have had photos of tiny Jesuses on tour across various destinations, one was found on a Portuguese beach (coincidence but I claimed it anyway!)

Is there any chance we could see the photo of this? 🤣

Just realised the mid-cycle one has underwear in, here’s the pic once he’d risen from the sudsy depths, and the Portuguese beach pic:
