My blood pressure is pretty good actually.
The creeping politicisation of abortion protections is of course wider than Kruger, Widdecombe, Caulfield & Dorries moving to Reform.
It includes the discourse on safe access zones and influence of US money - see ADF International.

And of course the unwanted commentary from the US state department.

We have discussed this topic many times on these threads.

If one takes the view that prayer is a private communion with your god, then how can other people know about it ?

Has anyone ever been sued for praying for someone against their wishes ?

The vetting question after "Do U have common sense?" and "R U honest?" must have been "R U a radgie?"

Tax - from the hotel thing today …

Difficult today, but held our ground despite being told ‘hope you and your kids get raped’! People took kids to the protest on the racist side - got them shouting obscenities- nice to tell teacher tomorrow!
Some bussed in from quite far off on racist side, but were told to eff off home ourselves (v close neighbouring areas).
Police struggled to contain the racists, and needed dogs to stop them breaking into the hotel - although I do believe our singing calmed them down too!
More even numbers there for once at least.

PickAChew · 28/09/2025 23:32

Clearly the new wave of kippers don't even pretend to give a shit about women and girls, @MsJinks

The cat I referred to who is recovering in a new home after a car hit it, is of similar colour. I am imagining him scratching a Reform supporter.

Whilst I have not discussed politics with the person whose home the cat now resides in, I am confident he is not a Reform supporter.

God, that sounds awful. "Concerned citizens" trying to break into the hotel, presumably to calmly explain their "concerns" to the people inside. Absolute scumbags.

Yes well exactly - hotel has been used for over 2 years now as dispersal accommodation- no one had an issue to be concerned about till recently - hmm. They do have problems with folk breaking in to film and harass residents there now though - dunno why they can’t be arrested but whilst I generally have good words and/or understanding of our bobbies’ hard position and dire work, I am a little taken aback by some of their choices lately that I have personally witnessed- sadly.

Really, Reform UK? THIS is what you're going with? That this man, who served as an MEP next to Nigel Farage for years and was made leader of your party in Wales by current deputy, Richard Tice, is just "one of tens of thousands of people Nigel meets on an annual basis"?~AA

Must say Nathan Gill's twitter profile calling himself a 'patroit' seems a bit out of kilter with working for an enemy state.

Why do they say this when they must know there will be photos.

Why do they say this when they must know there will be photos.

It's straight out of the Trump (and Putin) playbook.

Say something you know is untrue, and enough imbeciles will believe it without bothering to look at any evidence because they side with the racism,

Because it won't shift the dial on the people queuing up to vote for them.

Same as people who knew Brexit was going to make them poorer. They didn't care.

I caught clip of James O Brien talking to a reform voter. He disproved the assertions made by the caller on air, but finished by asking the caller what was motivating them to immediately go back to spouting what they now knew was bollocks when they hang up. Which is basically accepting that for some people facts are immaterial. If they support your views then fine. But if they don't, just pretend they do.

I had a similar experience a few years ago. A colleague was upset that there were so many Polish people in the UK after they were against us in WW2. A quick history lesson with pictures (so as not to confuse) and they accepted they were wrong.

A couple of days later I heard them repeating the same bollocks thinking I was out of earshot.
