My mum was the first female lifetime member of the lifeguards club!!!

That is tremendous - mad to think that was ever not the case.

So the fact that everyone else was giving their mates dodgy contracts makes it OK then?

I really think that politicians of all parties should be held to higher ethical standards.

Agree I’d like too see them all in the dock, Boris & Dido Harding included utterly shameful the amount of money that was handed out somehow though seems to have been a serious case of selective amnesia amongst media & general public.
also agree all politicians of all political parties should be held to the highest of ethical standards.

Always seems to be the woman selected first to punish though.
They all should be investigated.

PickAChew · 03/10/2025 16:29

I'm hoping this is just the start of it.

Same here - bright and sunny but on the windy side

Very wet overnight

PickAChew · 04/10/2025 11:11

I had to walk DS1 to the GP in it, yesterday. 5 minute walk and we were sodden! All getting a blow dry today.

placemats · 04/10/2025 11:14

We are well in south Cheshire as is my sister who lives in Northern Ireland - managed to not be those who lost electricity supply. She said the wind was howling and the rain lashed it down. A bit calmer today.

DuncinToffee · 04/10/2025 11:16

We have strong winds and sunshine, I was overdressed in my coat earlier

Sunny and very windy here. The cats are having berserk zoomies, but they always do when it's like this. Going out shortly for DD to get flu jabbed (DS coincidentally has just had his done in Plymouth) and then get the food shop in. Planning a quiet and domesticated weekend.

LittleBowSheep · 04/10/2025 11:45

Blowing a gale and chucking it down here in north Wales but we've had worse.

DuncinToffee · 04/10/2025 11:46

The BBC has pulled the latest HIGNFY episode from iPlayer becaused it presented the false claim that Blair's son would be involved with the digital ID as a fact 😬

Yes, I saw the programme last night and did wonder about that claim. But I went to bed after and forgot to google it.

ETA is anyone else finding MN to be a bit glitchy?

Oops. Shame because Archie from Balamory, whose actual name temporarily escapes me, was on top form.
