A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

More evidence of shitty Labour policies:
"According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), 6,365 agriculture, forestry, and fishing businesses closed in the UK during the 12 months to June 2025, which is the highest figure recorded since quarterly data began in 2017"

They would rather see land concreted over or covered in solar panels. It is state influenced decline of a sector. Once farmland has gone, it's gone forever.

https://www.fwi.co.uk/news/record-farm-closures-amid-iht-reforms-and-rising-costs

That is sickening. We need affordable food ffs!

Has Badenoch committed to reverse the farm tax does anyone know??

1 March 2025
Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has said that government changes to inheritance tax for farmers is "immoral".
Speaking on a visit to a farm in Bangor, County Down, she described the tax rise as a "family farms tax" and called for it to be reversed.

Northern Ireland: How is farming inheritance tax changing?

Thousands of farmers have protested this week over changes to inheritance tax announced in the Budget.

Kemi is forever visiting farms. 🥳

I think the UK is expecting to receive thr first batch of migrants from France this weekend aren't we? The UK have now flown 3 back to France, I wonder how many we'll receive?

It seems a bit pointless putting 3 on a plane in France, when 1072 arrive in one day on dinghies.

I imagjne it'll be more than 1 that we receive in return. I wonder if the government will be as open us about the numbers we receive in exchange? The impact this scheme will have on the number of illegal immigrants will be negligible, in fact I suspect we will end up taking even more migrants, albeit legal. This will put even greater pressure on public services. Also what cost is this doomed scheme to the tax payer? Are we chartering an entire plane just for one individual? Is France sharing the transport costs or has starmer agreed that the UK will foot the entire bill? What about the climate crisis and net zero targets surely there is no justification for placing just one passenger on a plane? I wonder what Greta has has to say 🤔?

TheNuthatch · 20/09/2025 17:13

Every time I see Kemi, she's on a farm 😂.

I think Reform have commited to ending all inheritance tax, so that should do away with the farm tax too.
Fingers crossed, in 4 years it will be abolished along with PS Vat.

Lord knows what Starmer has agreed to re costs and numbers. I dread to think to be honest. If we're still taking thousands by dinghy plus extra by plane, it's a bit stupid really isn't it.
I can't remember where I read it, but I'm almost certain they are booking seats on regular flights rather than chartering an aircraft.

And the ones returned will probably just come straight back again. Another 1000 arrived yesterday and this is getting to be a common occurrence, the size of the boats now are huge. I think if this carries on it’s going to become a national emergency.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 20/09/2025 18:15

I understood from Labourites on MN that dinghies were now all banned in France and rare as hens’ teeth there. It was a pivotal part of “smashing the gangs” (©️ Coco the Clown, aka Sir Keir Starmer).

But it seems there’s a thriving dinghy market operating across the channel.

At least the Tories pushed on with Rwanda but were thwarted by the courts. The Tories tried, and probably would have had some success (when Rwanda was in place there was a surge of immigrants to Ireland - which got very unhappy…)

We’re left now with this pathetic excuse for a government.

Yep Labour did well to push on gangs sourcing bigger boats there.

Yep. Ireland blamed the prospect of Rwanda for a rise in immigration coming from Britain. Around 80% of them were coming from NI in early 2024.

Asylum seekers trying to escape Rwanda policy fleeing to Ireland

A growing number of migrants are crossing the border from the UK to Ireland in the hope of avoiding deportation to Rwanda, the Irish deputy prime minister has said. His comments came after a violent protest at a site intended to house asylum seekers.

It's nothing short of criminal how this government is systematically taking apart the fabric of the countryside. They are determined to kill off our food security. I sometimes wonder whether it's in some way linked to our new arrangement with the EU, making us more dependent on europe for our food. Colour me cynical😕

Private schools will be charged* up to three times more *for Ofsted inspections under a fresh raid on the independent sector to be unveiled by the Education Secretary.

Bridget Phillipson will announce plans to axe subsidies for independent schools in a move that could spark more accusations she is waging a class war.
Ms Phillipson is currently currying favour with Labour’s Left-wing members in the battle to succeed Angela Rayner as the party’s deputy leader.

Her move risks further pushing up fees for parents already struggling to cope with the impact of Labour’s VAT raid, which has sparked a wave of school closures.

Ms Phillipson’s allies insisted it was “frankly unfair” that taxpayers who send their children to state schools were bankrolling the costs of private institutions.

Beyond evil.

VAT was only the start. It is her vile, spiteful campaign of hate.

The irony is thar if they don't have boarding then they don't have to be inspected by Oftsed anyway. The ISI does it

twistyizzy · 20/09/2025 20:23

Of course NO taxpayer bank rolls independent schools but facts have never stood in her way before

TheNuthatch · 20/09/2025 20:27

Phillipson needs therapy for her issues. Instead, some idiot made her Education Secretary 🤯.
I'm glad to hear that this won't impact all indy schools at least.

Unless she then bans the ISI

The court specified that Labour couldn't tax independent schools out of existence, she also can't close them all directly so what she will do is raise costs of running them so high that they automatically close. Then her and her vile supporters will claim they were unviable anyway. How dare they use children as political pawns.

For any Labour supporters lurking on here silently being pleased at this, fuck you. You are messing with childrens lives and education here!! You are also ensuring every single parent who uses independent school votes Reform.

Our schools had boarding and weren’t Ofsted inspected.

I can see the ISC taking this one to court as discrimination

Technically you can’t charge more for the same service.
This is clear discrimination and the ISC aren’t known for holding back

Yes they are.
They were utterly shit with VAT ie too bothered about engaging with Labour who blatantly didn't want to engage. They were permanently on the back foot. Even now, start of a new year they should be out there shouting about the impact but instead we get nothing....
They have let their members and our children down.
Even with the court case it was softly softly.

Firstly
she can’t ban an independent body, she has no powers to ban businesses but lets say she takes this through the courts and gets it through

The ISC will just appoint another body
then that gets banned
then
the ISC appoints another

and on and on it goes 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What fun

what a waste of tax payers money. What an envious bitch she is

They weren’t before. Very outspoken prior to the tax
They did all the sums and spoke out against Labours tax proving their figures wrong.
Whats changed

( My kids finished at Indi 3 years ago.. so a little out of touch )
