A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I wonder how long it'll be before an offended lurker triggers a visit by the police to an MN poster in their own home

If that were to happen would mumsnet be obliged to give the details of the offending poster?

twistyizzy · 18/09/2025 16:16

I wouldn't put it past them at all

Well that's torn it🤣🤣

upseedaisee · 18/09/2025 17:56

Nooooooo! I was banking on 'your party' to split the left vote.

GabrielsOboe · 18/09/2025 17:59

It’s a shame you can’t post video clips here, because I have been sent an amusing Starmer one…

Don't worry, the Greens will play the same function. They are matching the LibDems in some polls but they won't come to much.

Trouble in paradise?

Left wing in “boys club” shocker:

What is it with these Labour / ex Labour males all so sexist / misogynistic.

TheNuthatch · 18/09/2025 18:53

I missed the press conference 😪. It was so late!

What the hell has happened to MN? My posts are pink. It looks horrid.

a tale as old as time. The Left has always been the worst for misogyny. It was the Unions who were the most vocal back in the day against equal pay.

It reminds me of J K Rowling’s piece on left wing men several years ago (when all the vitriol was spilling out towards Theresa May) which first made me sit up and pay attention to her political views. I’m yet to disagree with anything she has publicly said.

I tried switching over to dark mode but it's still awful. Hope they put it back to normal.

Itcantbetrue · 18/09/2025 19:18

@CaveMum

Not a surprise is it.

How can they be so regressive .
Utterly disgraceful

It wasn't that interesting. Heavily curated so not the car crash of last time. Just boring this time 😆 It's absolutely clear who the dominant partner is though

I’ve managed to miss pretty much all of it bar the fashion pics and plush setting pics. I think it’s all I can take, glad I didn’t miss much!

In the clips I saw DT appeared to be struggling to stop his eyes rolling when KS was speaking.

Thanks, sounds like Trump was on his best behaviour. I bet Starmer is glad it's over.

I can't watch it on TV. One of my dogs goes absolutely mental whenever he sees Trump on the telly 😂. No idea why.
I have to squint at my phone to watch anything Trump related.

🤣🤣 yes there were some choice facial expressions at times.
The BBC summary was "starmer looks like he has earned the right to disagree with Trump but not the right to change his mind" and an aide to DT seemingly said that it won't make DT go soft on UK.

Ultimately the Royal Family did the heavy lifting on this one, without them I doubt DT would even have come over. He was on his best behavior because of them, not because Starmer is a powerful statesman (cos he isn't)

Planning permission approvals for new homes have hit a record low in the UK. Don’t tell me Ms Rayner was failing to fulfil her brief?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgmzwk4yd1eo

Oh no! Not just a hypocrite but a thoroughly useless hypocrite. Who’d have guessed?

This government really is terrible. I mean seriously terrible.

Edited

Very true about the Royal Family in this situation. KS was not even quite a support act. More like the distant aged cousin your mum makes you go see when you go back to your home town for Christmas.
