It's been 9 horrible months and I find myself looking back on those "eating the cats and dogs" days with nostalgia.

Images of "person of interest" wanted in connection with Kirk shooting

Hmm, the crackshot wears a USA flag on his T. Not convinced he isn't just a skinny 30 yr old though. If he was a student as early reports suggested, surely they'd recognise him from a gun club? Presumably he has won some awards for that skill.

Pictures of him later look normal.

Still looks ill to me, he lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time

24 years ago I was in New York state near Albany on Holiday. our flights home were planned for the next day and we had an evening planned in nyc.

I remember being really frightened, no phone services on public phones and no international calls available if you could ask in an office.
also pre internet being everywhere, sorting out travel insurance, rebook flights was a nightmare.

plus war hungry dubya rattling sabres.

pointythings · 11/09/2025 17:35

I was at work in Huntingdon - we were due to fly to the US that Saturday for DC1 to meet her US family and be christened. Fortunately the family were all in Philly where they belonged. Terrifying day.

The only good thing about it was that DC1 had been on a nursing strike for 3 days and decided to start BF again that night.

We ended up going that November instead.

Were they on a grassy knoll ?

about your question on the last thread - approx 265 ft.

Talkinpeace · 11/09/2025 17:45

The gun is a Mauser 3.0 bolt action rifle.
Several are for sale at UK gun shops - standard weapon for red deer and boar.
The campus changed its rules to allow concealed carry at the start of the semester.

So a shave under 300 yards ?

I did wonder when I heard it hit the throat if it was a handgun at close range with a shaky aim. If it was a rifle, then presumably they were aiming a bit higher ?

I have heard tell that sniping is more about knowing when to take the shot than the actually accuracy. Or something like that.

100 yards - but into a moving vehicle.

Kirk had been sitting in the same place for many minutes and his exact location had been set by the gazebo and table.

Its a deer hunting shot not a sniper shot.

DuncinToffee · 11/09/2025 17:58

Having watched the Jackal (tv series), snipers usually don't leave their weapon behind?

placemats · 11/09/2025 17:59

Yes I would agree @Talkinpeace

Would add, a practiced gun shooter and most definitely male. Perhaps a member of a club.

Well, that narrows it down to pretty much all male Republicans...

I agree.

It was a shot to the neck. All the hunters I know aim for the neck rather than the head.

Talkinpeace · 11/09/2025 18:03

@JoshLymanSwagger
and many Democrats and many women.

Many of my blue voting family are darned good shots with a rifle.
I was taught to shoot an air rifle before I was ten.

Narrow it down to registered members in Utah - these guys don't travel far.

A Mauser is heavy.

was anyone seen carrying curtain rods that day ?

Yup, I only shot air rifles (bb guns) !

Many years ago a colleague who was into pistol shooting commented that it seemed a very mixed sport.
