Couldn't understand a word.
What accent was that ?

I didn't receive an alert. No idea why. Maybe I'm not meant to be saved in the event of a real emergency!

Me neither! We must be on a reject list somewhere 😂

I got the SMS-style one, no talking, twice. Once at 3 and again at 3.10

I had a second one at 3.15 🤔

TurraeaFloribunda · 07/09/2025 16:05

I got a text message on my EE work iPhone earlier in the week warning me that there would be a test… but I didn’t get an emergency alert 🤷‍♀️

My personal giffgaff iPhone went off with the siren though.

Both worked on the last test. So I guess that whatever changes they have made have made things less reliable 😂

You do all know that you can opt not to receive the alert in your phone settings. In an iPhone it’s under notifications at the bottom. For all the people saying they didn’t receive anything it’s more than likely you have the setting switched off, whether you are aware of it or not.

All my settings are on. Triple checked. No alarm..

I was driving. I could have done without the distraction. My front seat passenger cancelled the message so I've no idea what it said.

Yes, that was the reason I asked my daughter this morning if she knew about it. She might've been driving when it happened. I'm glad I did because she hadn't heard.

TATT2 · 07/09/2025 16:06

Mine had 2 stages - the noise, then a female voice - I was busy so can't tell you the accent or what was said. Are you supposed to respond in some way so they know it's working? I didn't pick my phone up.

GameOfJones · 07/09/2025 16:07

Mine was the siren and then the message and then I got the woman's voice. She read the message in English and then in Welsh.....was it the Welsh bit you heard and couldn't understand?

DH just got the siren noise and the message, no voice speaking.

4 phones in our house and none of them received any alert. No idea why that might be.

I didn’t either, signal is very bad here.
I’ve updated my settings now to disable it as don’t want it randomly going off and scaring the life out of me!

BurntBroccoli · 07/09/2025 16:13

TheHillsIsLonely · 07/09/2025 15:58

Thanks but they are not.

Vodafone network if that makes any difference.

I’m Vodafone too and didn’t get it.

OtherS · 07/09/2025 16:13

Just a noise and text box, Samsung on Sky. Wasn't even terribly loud, sure it's a lot louder when I accidently call 999 (thankfully!) The text said that it's a test and that if it were real there would be a life-threatening event nearby, and there'd be information on what to do. Then something in Welsh, which very probably said the same thing. Speaking voice sounds an odd choice, would have thought that would be hard to hear if were real and there were guns or people screaming - maybe it's some sort of accessibility option?

Allthesnowallthetime · 07/09/2025 16:15

I didn't get it but hadn't opted out.

I think it's because my phone runs on Android 10 rather than Android 11 or above.

mindutopia · 07/09/2025 16:16

It’s 16:15 and still haven’t gotten it. Though dd in the next room did. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Alerts are all toggled on.

Me neither! We must be on a reject list somewhere 😂

I didn't get one either. DP did and wondered why the quarry blasting siren was going off on a Sunday as the noise is similar.

Dabberlocks · 07/09/2025 16:20

I didn't get an alert. I was in my friend's garden and of the ten of us there, only two people got it. So a 20% success rate.

I got a short alarm, then a computer voice which sounded like an American accent, but with a touch of something else, possibly oriental?. Female, very strange and very computerised. Then I got a text repeating the message, which I had to tick before I could delete. My cat didn’t approve, it interrupted his snooze. We had to find the Dreamies before he went back to snoozing. Happened on the dot of 3.00.

I just got the loud siren, nothing else. And the siren gave me such a fright that I jabbed at the phone to make it stop and the message disappeared. So I would have no idea what the emergency was.

If it's an actual emergency is there a way you can get the message back?

StarCourt · 07/09/2025 16:28

I got the siren then got it again 17 minutes later!

SliceofTosst · 07/09/2025 16:30

I was asleep having dozed off with earphones in. Went straight into my ears. Thank goodness they weren't on full volume. Bloody crapped myself!

No voice only siren.

Elbowpatch · 07/09/2025 16:30

I didn’t get the alarm but I did get message.

“This is an EMERGENCY message from DFES. A Bushfire Emergency Warning is in place for people in an area bounded by Sovereign Drive, Reef Break Drive, Indian Ocean Drive and Wilbinga Road including the Two Rocks townsite in parts of YANCHEP, WILBINGA, TWO ROCKS in the SHIRE OF GINGIN and CITY OF WANNEROO. You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. There is a threat to lives and homes. Leave in a southerly direction if it is safe to do so.”

Thatcannotberight · 07/09/2025 16:31

It made a change from 11.30 am on Monday mornings. Where I live you can hear the nuclear accident test siren then, every Monday.

Kirova · 07/09/2025 16:34

Mine talked - it sounded RP to me? But very fast! DH's has gone off every 10 mins since, so he's clearly very important and needs to be saved in an emergency...

Thissickbeat · 07/09/2025 16:35

I only got the on screen message, phone was on vibrate. I hadn't opted out of the sound.
Was in the supermarket at 15:00 and didn't hear another phone go off.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 07/09/2025 16:36

ToffeeFroyo · 07/09/2025 16:03

Me neither! We must be on a reject list somewhere 😂

Me too.

No alert.

Thissickbeat · 07/09/2025 16:38

All my alerts are on, no siren. Weird.

Remingtonsteele · 07/09/2025 16:40

Mine wasn’t that loud. If I didn’t know it was happening I’d have missed it.
