Couldn't understand a word.
What accent was that ?

I had 2 sirens about 5 minutes apart as did my husband (but at different times). No voices. Lebara SIM cards.

LoafofSellotape · 07/09/2025 15:44

I had no alarm just a message.

It’s been on the news multiple times this week, in the press and seen some content creators / influencers post about it.

It was on motorway signs yesterday.

Anewuser · 07/09/2025 15:41

Really good point. I pressed ok to shut up the sound so the message disappeared and I have no idea what it said.

DH had an Irish male voice - computer generated.

Exactly! I knew what this one said (kinda) as I'd seen it on the BBC news earlier but for a real alert I won't know if I'm supposed to be preparing for aliens, zombies, flooding, terrorist incident...... obviously yes I'd be straight online trying to find out but the whole point of the alert is to be alerted

MrsClatterbuck · 07/09/2025 15:48

I got mine at 3.12 pm. There was a message on screen and it was also spoken as well. I was driving albeit in town so ok'ed the message when parked up and it then disappeared.

Glittertwins · 07/09/2025 15:50

Never got anything on 5 different devices. My old phone had a setting by which it could be turned off and my new phone had the settings copied. Thanks to a PP, I’ve now found where they were switched off.

It's the opting in or out that has not been publicised, not the alarm itself.

I didn't receive an alert. No idea why. Maybe I'm not meant to be saved in the event of a real emergency!

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 07/09/2025 15:52

I didn't receive it. Again.

It was probably A I and not."an accent" it just said what it said on screen, my Dh has 2 phones personal and work, the voice message was just on 1 phone.

Your settings might .be off.

Randomchat · 07/09/2025 15:55

Mine went off twice. First time was before 3pm. We were in an aircraft museum and I thought ds had touched something and set an alarm off. All the staff came rushing over to see what he'd done! Then I got another along with e everyone else at 3pm.

I guess I'm meant to get a head start in an emergency.

ComfortFoodCafe · 07/09/2025 15:57

We got it, but I got it three times 10 minutes apart. Confused

Ah, okay. Only seen that on here and something on the BBC.

Thanks but they are not.

Vodafone network if that makes any difference.

Ah ok maybe Vodafone customers are not deserving if saving in an emergency.😀

Notmyreality · 07/09/2025 16:00

You do all know that you can opt not to receive the alert in your phone settings. In an iPhone it’s under notifications at the bottom. For all the people saying they didn’t receive anything it’s more than likely you have the setting switched off, whether you are aware of it or not.

Middlemarch123 · 07/09/2025 16:01

I got a short alarm, then a computer voice which sounded like an American accent, but with a touch of something else, possibly oriental?. Female, very strange and very computerised. Then I got a text repeating the message, which I had to tick before I could delete. My cat didn’t approve, it interrupted his snooze. We had to find the Dreamies before he went back to snoozing. Happened on the dot of 3.00.

bookworm14 · 07/09/2025 16:02

I didn’t receive it at all!

There has been lots of info on how to switch it off you can't opt out but you can switch it off.

My Dd gets scared with loud alarms. I made sure all our phones had it switched off in settings.

utterlybutterly12 · 07/09/2025 16:03

Nothing here

SmallGoddess · 07/09/2025 16:03

I was driving. I could have done without the distraction. My front seat passenger cancelled the message so I've no idea what it said.

CeciliaDuckiePond · 07/09/2025 16:03

I missed it because I'd left my phone at home and we were in Sainsbury's. I didn't intentionally leave my phone behind, I just don't automatically take it with me when I go out (old fashioned). Heard everyone else's though in a mass cacophony at 3pm 😄
