Pull up a chair for some friendly chit chat about politics and beyond

Taxes optional but greatly appreciated.

Anti-migrant protester who ‘wanted to protect kids’ is a paedophile

Just dreadful. Not only because of his history (as if that isn’t terrible enough) but also for the disinformation he spread on his YouTube channel.

Dispocable.

Makes you wonder whether it’s more about keeping their woman and children to themselves to abuse rather than the possibility of “losing them” to the safety of a loving partner who happens not to be White British.

Love it. Thank you.

Evenstar · 07/09/2025 19:56

Thank you so much for your kind comments about my outfit ❤️ I had the best night and even helped get a conga line going on the dance floor (probably the 1980’s when I last did that!), fab band, wonderful food and drink.

It made me think how much politics at the moment drags us down in every way, so nice to forget it for a while.

Hope everyone else and DPets if you have them are doing well.

Evenstar · 07/09/2025 19:59

I wish I could say I was shocked or surprised by that Times story, but we know that this is who many of them are, they abuse children, pets and women in all sorts of ways and violent drunken disorder and vandalism is a weekend hobby for them and they look for any pretext to indulge in it.

He's a groomer and they never stop. No matter what the disability or the age. They will groom parents with young children.

placemats · 07/09/2025 20:03

I don't click on any Facebook links. Not even from family.

Piggywaspushed · 07/09/2025 20:09

That's darkly funny. The protestors love him and his little 'newscasts of truth'.

Agree with this. It's very much a case of 'stop abusing our women and children. That's our birthright'.

That and they are also racist fuckwits.

Mine was a minute late too. My Welsh FIL was a devoted Toffee supporter and also remembered his father raving about women's football and so sad it was banned. He would have enjoyed that win.

So the rest of us get a minute’s start on you two for running away from the zombies?
Wont help me sadly unless you are also unable to run…

pointythings · 07/09/2025 16:37

For some people 'thick' just means 'from a political party I did not vote for'. The grapes are still sour.

And there are absolute ructions if you suggest people believing Farage aren’t MENSA candidates…

One of their best I think! Musically and in terms of wit.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thankfully I won’t find that hard if it’s tonight. Back from singing evensong, knackered, starving, drinking gin and cooking dinner. I’m so hungry I could probably have a solid go at taking a bite out of a person.

PickAChew · 07/09/2025 21:10

I can't say I've had the best day but the less said about that the better.

And I've just learned that a Feline Internet star, even more famous than Larry has died. He was an old man but still 😿

Well it depends where the invasion/outbreak starts. Perhaps you may well be in the capture first zone

ETA. It could be latitude alert.

cardibach · 07/09/2025 22:32

I’m not sure you know what you’re dealing with here @placemats .
In my days as Assistant Housemistress Senior Girls’ Boarding we had a fully fledged zombie apocalypse escape plan to save all the girls. I have experience in this area. Even if brought about by coffee fuelled chats in the common room.

New centre-left Labour group Mainstream is launching tomorrow, key backers include Andy Burnham and all of the below.
ETA(List in Bluesky post)

Pitches itself as “the home for Labour’s radical realists” and will play key role in the deputy leadership contest.

The group argues that “the top of Labour Party is now wildly out of step with the majority in the party” and warns that “without a dramatic course correction”, Labour will lose to Reform.

BIossomtoes · 07/09/2025 23:05

That’s a heavyweight list. Alf Dubbs is huge.

PickAChew · 07/09/2025 23:14

Some very senior figures on that list.

Piggywaspushed · 08/09/2025 06:44

I'm a bit surprised at the venom of the comments, although I'm trying hard to figure out what they actually want.

They also don't seem to realise radical realism is an actual thing, not something they've made up.

BIossomtoes · 08/09/2025 07:19

I think they’re frustrated in the same way many voters are. They want Starmer to start doing a better job. If a clear narrative and a road map for delivery doesn’t come through loud and clear from the party conference I think the disquiet will grow. That isn’t a group of disruptors, it’s a group of highly respected figures in the party.

Piggywaspushed · 08/09/2025 08:50

Yes, I agree. The comments underneath the post seem unimpressed and yet they seem to becoming from the left of the party which seemed odd.

Andy Burnham is widely regarded as Not Left. It is a bit of a strange collection . I like Clive Lewis. I always like the troublemakers! Blessed are the troublemakers!

Alexandra2001 · 08/09/2025 08:52

Labour can talk at the NEC all they like, its well under 4years until the next election.

Talking about Delivery, just isn't good enough, from what i can see, voters people have switched off to what Labour are trying to say or even do.

On Brexit/ cross ch migration, R4 reporter saying this morning that migrants are coming because we are out of Schengen data bases, so we have no idea who has been refused before, so in effect, they have another bite of the cherry!

As one of the comments said "Tell the truth about Brexit....
