The thing is, Mandelson was probably very good at smoothing Trump's fragile ego. I suspect he wouldn't have been chosen had that not been a possibility (unless he has dirt on someone). But now, he has to go as far away as possible.

Perhaps Mandelson knows more about Trump given he spent time with Epstein.
