A brand new shiny thread. Whether you want to do one extra thing a day, or a brain dump of what you have to do this is the place.

This thread has moved so quickly, I need to focus properly to catch up ❤️

I did something today which i'm super excited about but will tell you all when the time is right, sorry to be all coy 🙈🙈

Hope youre all okay though, love to you all

FourSeasonsLobelia · 09/09/2025 19:22

Yay ! @mumofoneAloneandwell !! Can't wait to hear when you are ready. Thanks

SingleThreadJoiner2 · 09/09/2025 19:25

Just flying by. All dreams of boring routine week shattered this morning with positive covid test for D. She had a fever and we wouldn't have tested her (just kept off school obviously) but because husband was supposed to be seeing his parents and we didn't want to spread pestilence in the care home. So here we are. Waiting to see if it gets us too. We have been getting privately vaccinated every few months though so hopefully milder if it does...

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/09/2025 04:30

Cleaned bathroom sink and mirror as interim refresh using vinegar. 🏆
Got into garden, hacked it to within an inch of its life, harvested mint, sage and tomatoes then helped neighbour with injured hand clean up their garden. Brownie points? 😇

WinterFrogs · 10/09/2025 07:13

Just a quick drop in today. Am feeling the sort of frazzled that normally has me deleting my account and disappearing into the woods. I know it'll pass but I'm not capable of engaging very well.
(Life frazzle not mn frazzle) Everything is just Too Much this week.

Love to all 💐

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/09/2025 07:33

Sending love dear Froggy. 🐸🩷
I'm steeping tea overnight for iced mint tea tomorrow with mint from garden. I'll pour you a glass. 🙂

autumnangel · 10/09/2025 10:19

No time to catch up as I'm running out the door but I'll read back later...

Yesterday was a busy day after work. I went for a mooch in The Range, returned clothes to Asda and collected a parcel. I had grand plans to get on with jobs when I came home but ended up wasting the night doom scrolling. That’s ok though I got one extra job done and that’s good enough for me at the moment.
Today I have a reiki appointment that I am looking forward to then I might treat myself to lunch hopefully the rain will stay off and I can go for a walk.
Today’s extra job is to charge both Ring cameras (what a kerfuffle trying to work out how to remove the silly things from the wall!) and update the wifi passwords on them. I am determined not to ask for help and do it myself with the help of Youtube.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 10/09/2025 19:29

Thank you @FourSeasonsLobelia xx

@WinterFrogs sorry to hear this. Do take care of yourself and come back soon. I'm the same. Life can just get too much at times but we're here for you xx

@SingleThreadJoiner2 hope You're all holding up okay and haven't caught covid? Me and dd are coming down with a cold ourselves, hopefully nothing more serious 😒 xx

Hi to everyone, still catching up xx

petalpower · 10/09/2025 20:45

Take care @WinterFrogs . Hope you’re ok. Flowers

Peridot1 · 10/09/2025 21:45

Don’t let the buggers get you down @WinterFrogs. Deep breaths. Hope you are ok.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 10/09/2025 22:32

Autumn, I've learned a lot from YT vids. ☺️

Stripped my bed and washed the sheets this morning. Woke up sweating. Stupid cold. 🤧
Made grilled cheese sandwiches in sourdough with Cheddar and Swiss. Had sliced tomatoes on the side that I picked from the garden last night. Also had iced mint tea.
Vacuumed and the extra task was that I vacuumed one of the fans.
Contacted my mum's ext health plan and paid one month. Contacted OT provider to query for appt for my mum.
Just nursing baby then will take Havoc out to a park.
Gorgeous day here.

Sandwich was delicious, a rare treat, and cut into small pieces for the dc. Cheese oozed out. As it should!!! 😋

petalpower · 10/09/2025 22:35

I picked my tomatoes today too @Mumtobabyhavoc ! Also all our sweetcorn which was a bumper crop.

FourSeasonsLobelia · 11/09/2025 07:45

How are you feeling today @WinterFrogs ? ❤❤

WinterFrogs · 11/09/2025 16:04

Thank you all for thinking of me. I am here, and love reading your posts.
That sandwich looks lovely @Mumtobabyhavoc 😍

I need to know what @mumofoneAloneandwell has been plotting!

@SingleThreadJoiner2 I do hope DD is ok and not sharing the germs!

I've taken the day to do nothing much at all, and tomorrow I will straighten the house. And then it's the weekend and i intend to take full advantage of it! I have promised my nearest and dearest that I'll rest.

Thank you kind people. Not tagging as I'm bound to miss someone out and that would be worse.

DH is out all day. Not back till late. It's peaceful!

FourSeasonsLobelia · 11/09/2025 17:56

A nice day to rest sounds just the ticket @WinterFrogs . Thanks

Not much going on here. I have two appointments and then had to attend a school event. It's worn me out really.

WinterFrogs · 11/09/2025 19:10

It's been lovely @FourSeasonsLobelia. I hope you have a restful evening!

SpiritOfEdna · 12/09/2025 11:31

morning all @winterfrogs a cosy day with a book is in order I think! I am very glad it's Friday 😄Friday morning is the one day of the week I get up and go back to bed with a coffee and breakfast - spoilt this morning by a snarky email from my boss - who must have been up early too. He is super narky at the moment with back pain, so I'll give him a pass although I might not be able to help myself and There Will Be Words.

Today:

  • I started getting an alarm on my car about brake fluid, so I need to investigate the issue today
  • need to find some fabric to line a bag with just as a practice run. I must have some in a stash somewhere.
  • SpiritDoggo's recall has gone! She is running away on walks - always at the same spot. Maybe need to look at back to basics for her. She is not particularly food driven so that is a pain
  • the kitchen needs a good clean, so may plan that for the weekend. My favourite - deep oven clean.
  • I need some more pictures framing - I may go for round two with my friend and get them back next year 😄
That's all for today, have a good one, SoE

I’m on one of my multi tasking outings at the moment - @WinterFrogs had a good name for these outings but I can’t find it! So far I’ve been to the dental hygienist and posted some paperwork back about deceased auntie that needed tracked delivery and am now waiting at the picture framers to have some glas replaced in a photo frame that got broken when the carpet fitter was here. Then it’s on to the butchers, greengrocers and local hardware shop before going home. Oh yes, also taking the soft plastics recycling too. My morning will have been very efficient!

Peridot1 · 12/09/2025 12:33

Hello all.

A quick one today as it’s a busy day as I am off on holiday early tomorrow morning so I am getting sorted for that and trying to get a head start on clearing the kitchen/dining/sitting areas for the painter who starts just after I get back.

Today’s list:

  • dishwasher - done
  • strip my bed - done
  • wash bedding - done
  • PT session at gym - done
  • empty and move a book case into living room - done
  • move a chair into living room - done
  • put laundry away
  • finish my packing
  • eyebrow tinting and waxing apt
  • anything else is a bonus!

Have a great week all. I’m going to try to avoid being online much while I’m away.

FourSeasonsLobelia · 12/09/2025 13:25

Have a great holiday @Peridot1 !

Hope your boss isn;t too narky @SpiritOfEdna

Not much here. I have ironed a load. Washed a load. Stood in the sun and talked with the neighbour while he picked up various bits of wood for his burner. Now I have to medicate a cat then I need to get back to stripping leaves off the wood I have cut so the neighbour can use it.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. We are going to see Downton Abbey tomorrow followed by lunch at the local pizza place.

petalpower · 12/09/2025 22:50

Have a great time and a good break @Peridot1 !

SingleThreadJoiner2 · 13/09/2025 12:24

Happy Saturday! Hope everyone is OK and healthy and not frazzled.

D went back to school yesterday - she was only unwell for one day but NHS recommends three days at home following a positive test with children. Me and H are feeling fine, I've been testing negative so far, he had a positive test yesterday and a negative one today. Very perplexing.

We took some essentials to the care home - handed them over outside!. D tried out a new dance class with a teacher she already knows and loves, unfortunately it's at 9.15am...

The other day I attacked her stained white school t shirts - half an hour in bleach followed by vanish spot treatment and a long wash in the machine with more vanish. I think I eliminated some but not all of them. It is the bane of my existence.

Have a lovely weekend all!

RunningKatie · 13/09/2025 15:25

Hope you're ok @WinterFrogs
Saturday afternoon and the dc are back at writing club so I'm sitting with a notebook and pen to make grand plans. But I've actually spent time on my phone instead. Gah!
Tomatoes harvested again today, fresh pasta sauce being made tonight and homemade apple crumble. Yum.
The weather is quite poor tomorrow so I'm aiming for a jobs day - paperwork to do, cookies to bake, and maybe a nap if I'm super lucky.
Happy weekend all!

WinterFrogs · 13/09/2025 17:23

Hello all . I am ok thank you, just very tired still. Stuff has caught up with me that's all, nothing to worry about 💕
Lovely to 'see' you @RunningKatie 👋

Tell us if the film is any good @FourSeasonsLobelia 🙏

Big best wishes to all ❤️

FourSeasonsLobelia · 13/09/2025 20:11

Hope you are okay @WinterFrogs Thanks. And that you can rest and regain your equilibrium. ❤

The film was good thanks. Smile. I loved the series and the film is the best of the three they made IMO. Shed a little tear at the end. I won't give spoilers, but for those who enjoyed the series I can certainly recommend it. Smile

Hope everyone on our lovely thread - and all of your loved ones- have a wonderful weekend. xx
