A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

So, musical chairs on Monday then?

Yes interesting times. That means an election to replace her as Deputy Leader of the party? Starmer must be shitting himself.

Arrearing50 · 05/09/2025 12:27

Yes telegraph always gets sneered at but their articles have been pretty good in the last few years

It’s not going to help Labour to have a big change in the top team from what people voted for / the party hardly likely to elect someone that’ll appeal to disenchanted centre voters for that spot…

TheNuthatch · 05/09/2025 12:29

I was just about to post the same absent.
Beth Rigby said reshuffle underway, so could be today.

Please let Bigot Phillipson be removed. But she probably won't 🙄

CaveMum · 05/09/2025 12:31

As pointed out by BBC, Deputy Leader isn’t automatically Deputy PM - Gordon Brown overlooked Harriet Harman for that position.

You know that the PLP and Unions will vote for an Ultra-Zealot from the far left of the Party for Deputy and we’ll be subject to their infighting and drama for the next 3-4 years.

Conference will be interesting 🤣🤣
Major rifts coming up, unions flexing muscle while Starmer stands blinking like a hamster
The comms/PR will ramp up from Monday ie "nothing to see here it's all going great"

EmpressoftheMundane · 05/09/2025 12:38

How will she pay the mortgage on the Hive bolt hole?

She'd be quite funny on I'm a celeb? She would get a few quid for that 😂

How will she pay the mortgage on the Hive bolt hole?

Or the money + fine she owes HMRC?

She doesn't give a shit how I find the money to pay VAT for my child's education so quite frankly, as she earns (or did earn) a hell of a lot more than me, I don't give a shit now about her.

Could be awkward. It could be the, 'Don't call me comrade, comrade' conference.

Should imagine Hove could be on the market soon

twistyizzy · 05/09/2025 12:46

This is a genuine Q: has there been a more chaotic start to a new government? When there has been a change of party?

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 05/09/2025 12:47

I confess to having a touch of ‘buyer’s remorse’. In the sense that I did, and do, think she should go, but now I’m thinking of the long tail of derision that we’ll be missing out on had she stayed.

She’ll be back though, even if not at her previous heights of office. So we can look forward to some ‘straight talking’ 🙄 from our Ange in the future.

Upstartled · 05/09/2025 12:55

Well, she's on the outside of the car pissing in now. Her podcast rounds will be interesting.

CaveMum · 05/09/2025 12:59

Looks like there may be a TRIP Emergency Pod incoming.

It’ll be fun to watch AC try and defend this!
