What’s the most batshit thing your DIL has said or done recently?

Mine came to lunch on Sunday and expected me to cook her a separate vegetarian meal.

Didn't you know she was a vegetarian?

IceCreamWoes · 21/08/2025 12:29

Is that batshit? Or is this a reverse?

EsmeWeatherwaxHatpin · 21/08/2025 12:32

Well that’s not batshit. Assuming she was invited you cater for hour guest. But I share @IceCreamWoes reverse suspicions.

dagoo · 21/08/2025 12:32

What's wrong with that?

Stefanosgirl · 21/08/2025 12:32

Yeah, I have to agree with PPs.
If you didn't know your daughter-in-law at all, and you didn't know her dietary preferences, then I think that both you, and her, are at fault.
Now that's batshit.

G5000 · 21/08/2025 12:37

Is this a reverse`? You invited a vegetarian for Sunday lunch but didn't cook anything they could eat?

ninjahamster · 21/08/2025 12:38

😂

Halfandhalf2025 · 21/08/2025 12:38

Tell me you despise your DIL without telling me you despise your DIL 😅

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 21/08/2025 12:38

I don't understand.

It can't be news that your DIL is a vegetarian?

DaisyChain505 · 21/08/2025 12:38

Surely if she’s your DIL you know that she’s vegetarian and you cater to that already?

ShinySquirrel · 21/08/2025 12:40

The onus is always on the host to cater appropriately.

TheFairyCaravan · 21/08/2025 12:41

Why’s that batshit?

My DIL doesn’t like sausages so I never cook them when she’s here. I hate lasagne so she doesn’t cook it for me.

Snugglemonkey · 21/08/2025 12:43

That is in no way batshit!

dogsarethebestalways · 21/08/2025 12:43

Reverse, surely? Either make vege for everyone or make something she can eat as your guest. That's normal.

K0OLA1D · 21/08/2025 12:44

Must be a reverse

Fenellasbum · 21/08/2025 12:45

Eh?

Didn't you know she was veggie?

StressedOot3 · 21/08/2025 12:46

Definitely a reverse.

dayswithaY · 21/08/2025 12:46

Had she become a vegetarian 1 minutes before arriving and this was news to you? What a strange thing to comment on.

MounjaroMounjaro · 21/08/2025 12:46

So clearly a reverse.

FWIW my DIL said with a side eye and a hushed voice, "Can you believe that women used to feed their children by spooning food into their mouths?"

legsekeven · 21/08/2025 12:48

I think it’s referencing the thread “batshit things mil says” that’s currently trending.

Doyledoo · 21/08/2025 12:49

Bloody cheek - hope you told her what for! 😁

CurlewKate · 21/08/2025 12:58

No “She should have brought her own food” or “she should have just eaten the vegetables” or “what a CF to expect special treatment” or “she should just eat what’s put in front of her” or “don’t pander to her entitlement”? What if I tell you she asked if we could change our Christmas plans slightly so she could see her grandmother? After all she’s only given us 4 months notice….

OP posts:
livingoverseasproblems · 21/08/2025 12:59

This is obviously a reverse......

she's not entitled - she's vegetarian. Whole different kettle of fish.

Only one batshlt person here as far as I can see.....
