Witches - spell help

Hey, looking for some advice as in all the years of spell work I have never had this happen before.

i did a spell on the full moon, all very well intentioned, to help me save money. I lit a candle in a special place to me, set my intention, and the candle blew out quite quickly. It was near a window, so I took it to mean spell completed ie wish made.

i took the candle home and lit it again later on the lionsgate portal night to strengthen my resolve. The wax kind of dripped on to my finger and burned me a lot. I’ve never had that happen before. I looked it up and some say it’s a warning (what can it be warning me about, it’s literally just to make me save money 😂) or - very differing view - the spell needed some kind of karmic or energy payment from me, and I “paid” with the burn to add strength and resolve to the spell.

any thoughts? I’ve done this a long time and never cast bad or ill intentioned spells so I don’t know what this was about! Has someone hexed me?

blessed be x

My ex husband was into this, absolutely batshit man doing spells, overtime he used this pagan witch shit as a type of religious abuse.

He was an Abuser, a rapist and a paedophile. The wax burnt your finger because it melted from the flame and was hot.

Oh and he now has decided hes a woman. Weirdest person ive ever met. The witch stuff was insane.

Your Ex clearly has mental health problems. Those occur across all religions and practices.

You are mostly right, but also a bit wrong - largely because you seem trapped in a western masculine worldview

Telling people that spells aren't real is a Western masculine worldview? 😂😂😂

Kreepture · 18/08/2025 22:16

Spells are real.. they're a very real thing. I'm a very real person doing a very real spell.

Whether you believe there is any quantifiable outcome of what they're intended for is what can be believed/disbelieved.. but the actual act of the spell itself is real.

My ex husband fully believed that he was a witch who could do magic. Talked about a "virgin sacrifice ceremony" a lot. Had a range of "daggers" everywhere. Made himself magic wands. Did spells for things, doing "ceremonies" naked in the garden. All very bizarre

I’m going to take a leaf out of @Velmy’s Book of Razors to Prove I am Intellectually Superior, and say that whilst razors should not be applied individually and as an absolute, this poster’s brand of malice is driven by being incapable of imagination. Rational thought is all very well, but it makes for a very dull human. Very, very dull.

hi @FenywHysbys hope you're having a lovely week!

I'm going to step out i think.. when people start posting about their acquaintances clear mental health issues and try linking it to being anything to do with being a Witch.. i'm done.

Going to go enjoy the smell of the rain in my garden and dead-head my roses.. and prune some of the fresh flowers for their petals.

Well exactly no one wants to be Urizen “what demon has formed this abdominal void, some said it is Urizen, but alone. Abstracted, brooding, secret, the dark powers hid”

To all the narrow minded non believers. You wouldn’t say these things to someone who believed in Islam, Christianity or Judaism or any other faith. because you’d be labelled for that. But completely ok to bring someone down for their beliefs in spells. Yet you believe most of the “stories” about religion. Each to their own, if you’re not interested just don’t comment. Some people are too far stuck up their own ass to believe anything unless it’s been brainwashed into you by education , parents and what YOU ARE TOLD TO BELIEVE

Amazing quote. Yes.

Totally agree with our moods raising our energy and vibration, suppose following daily gratitude rituals is a good way to do this.

When you say about us choosing how we start out in life do you mean before we’re on earth?
I only ask as I was reading a Dolores Cannon
book recently and she really delves into this and I found it so interesting - she wrote about hundreds of people saying about the place they were before life, and how we’re here to learn.

I wasn’t sure I fully believed it at first but it was definitely an interesting read and I’d like to read more of her books.

Yes, I do mean this.

There are countless anecdotes of people who have experienced 'the other side' - and there is a lot of common data amongst them. Complete skeptics too - doctors, surgeons and other people in evidence-based fields have had near-death experiences and have described common events. Such as life plans, life reviews, soul families.

One of the best things I like to watch is interviews on near death experiences on YouTube. People describe them and they are very well produced.

I also think cultures are only going to talk about things once they're ready, I mean I feel like we've all had a bit of a funny experience here and there, and I definitely have had strange things and signs and people have had premonitions you know so there's obviously more than what we see.

So nothing to do with adrenaline and the sympathetic nervous system causing the pulse rate and blood flow to parts essential for escaping or fighting a predator to increase and hormones/blood flow for digestion and sleep to decrease? Just a core essence rather than our animal brains trying to keep us alive instead of becoming a sabre toothed cat or dire wolf's dinner?

Oh no I just mean that I think things work in interesting ways we might not all know yet.

My artist friend told me that whenever she's had creative block, the strangest things will happen to that hand that she paints with, like that she'll keep getting it knocked or whacked- just the craziest stuff.

I think that 'Something' is helping to get the energy moving.

Yes I have studied Bible and yes agree, alot of faiths that claim to follow it, are so totally of course and introduce man made doctrine

A good book to start with - Religion and the Decline of Magic by Keith Thomas. Then if you are still interested, Triumph of the Moon by Ronald Hutton. You can pick your path from there…

That was the first book on the subject I read too. Followed by the Huson classic "Mastering Witchcraft".

Sure. If you blow out the candles on a birthday cake and make a wish, is that not the same?

How about knocking on wood for luck?

No one - unless they're dim - believes they're going to actually get their wish. They certainly don't think they're spells.

You should take into consideration what Thumper's mother said- "if you can't say anything nice , don't say anything at all" . This subject is obviously outside of your experience, therefore you should not comment.

A wax drip burn is usually just candle mechanics, draft + wick + how hot it’s burning, not a cosmic invoice. Window blowout makes total sense too, airflow messes with flames. I wouldn’t jump to “someone hexed me” off that.

If you want to read meaning into it without spiraling, take it as a reminder to tighten the setup, trim the wick, stable surface, no draft, and don’t carry the candle around half melted. Then redo the working when you’re calm.

Also, anything that frames normal accidents as “payment” can turn into fear-based spellwork fast. When I was getting in my head about signs, I used Talal Zoabi’s services once for a simple reset, and the biggest benefit was staying grounded instead of turning every little thing into an omen.
