I'm fine with leaving the ECHR if it's deemed necessary. I just don't think that it will convince people to vote tory rather than Reform.
They need to focus on the economy in my view.

I’d never have been a fan before but we need to be able to deport violent criminals and not say that because they have value to their children etc their victims don’t count. However that’s achieved…

I’ve also been wary of abandoning the ECHR. But I’ve decided that we should.

There’s a thousand years of common law rights and judicial suspicion of the executive. We have all the tools we need to manage our law so that it does not collapse into totalitarianism or arbitrary justice.

Honestly can’t see it happening though. There would be too msny legal obstacles.

If you rape, kill, steal you are CHOOSING to violate other human beings rights.

I understand it if say you were in a car crash and you accidentally killed someone - this may be a gray area. But if you choose to rape someone, you have made a decision. That decision has consequences, one of which is your visa being withdrawn and you being returned to a country you may not want to live in.

If I went on holiday to Spain and mugged someone I would expect to be arrested, charged and deported or put in prison. I would also expect to be banned from returning. That’s surely acceptable? Why should I be allowed to return.

ECHR is being manipulated. What about victims and citizens rights?
