What did you eat today?

A few months ago there was a really fun series of threads where people listed what they’d eaten that day (and had a general chat).

I really enjoyed it but can’t find it anymore so I thought I’d start one.

It was really interesting and varied (it’s not a weight loss or judgy thread- unless the judgement is ‘that sounds delicious, what’s the recipe/where did you buy it?’). Everyone is welcome!

Today I’ve had:
Breakfast- Scrambled eggs, sautéed veg (tomatoes, red onion, spinach, mushrooms). And tea with milk.

Snack- Americano with milk

Lunch- Chicken salad (chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, avocado, sesame dressing).
Followed by low fat Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, strawberries, nectarine and blueberries.

Dinner- Will be roasted salmon, homemade potato wedges, roasted courgette/tomato/onion/fennel.
Followed by a watermelon and lime ice lolly (I make my own so it’s just fruit).

I’ve just started weight watchers so it’s not the most exciting day (I’ve also tried to cut out UPFs as much as possible and use my points on high fat whole foods like avocado and nuts). I’m looking forward to living vicariously through other people’s treats!

I have realised from reading all these that I seem to have a terrible diet,

Today

2 boiled eggs and half a piece of sourdough toast with butter at about 11.30am

Water.
2 milky coffees with sweetener,

Then a Cafe Nero Cappuccino.

I then ate 2 boiled eggs mashed in Olive oil as a snack.

Another coffee.

A tiny piece of chocolate fudge brownie.

Dinner was a tiny portion of homemade need mussakka with a spoonful of salad and yoghurt.

Water.

Yesterday I had a pork chop (I bought 4, it'll be all week I'm eating these!) a leek in cream sauce, cheesy mash, broccoli and asparagus.

One pot of mash for the fridge, another in the freezer.

Another nectarine.

My BMI is 23 and I'm a size 12 (I'm tall). This has been steady for 8 years regardless of what I eat! recorded by my asthma Dr who doesn't want me to lose any weight as I'm a bit old and delicate. Fine by me!

Redhairandhottubs · 17/07/2025 08:00

So far today a ufit vanilla protein milkshake. Having a very, very bad pain day so it will be survival until dh gets home. Luckily I have a ready supply of mini cheddars and protein shakes.

dinner tonight is boring pasta night, this involves plain pasta and cheese for the fussy kids, pasta and sauce from a jar for dh and spaghetti with butter and Parmesan for me. Garlic bread not optional.

we have two meals of a weekly rotation, jacket potatoes and boring pasta, four nights are more varied and healthy and Sunday is frequently a roast. Saturday is usually steak or pizza from the pizza oven.

I’m trying to do one meal a day, but it’s hard so end up on one meal and one snack.

Yesterday I had 1x crumpet with butter, tuna mayo sandwich, 8 Pringles, 1 bourbon biscuit.

Today I have to eat two meals as I’m out with family. lunch: 450 calorie delicious salad and will aim to do the same tonight.

Ive realised how much I don’t need to eat when I stop grazing. It’s ok to be a bit hungry.

citychick · 17/07/2025 13:55

@MumbleJumble123 your dinner sounds fab!

Today:
Porridge with cranberries and some cooked cherries (my cherry tree has gone into overdrive this year after 5 years of nothing, and given me 6lbs cherries)

Lunch was pizza- there was some left over at work and it was going in the bin if nobody ate it, so for the sake of the planet I had to eat six slices. (Small, they were for primary children!) And it was worth it.

Dinner will be some veg soup, cinnamon-raisin soda bread and some courgette cake.

gigthenfishdelish · 17/07/2025 16:31

Lunch: chicken breast, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and mixed salad leaves, roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, pumpkin seeds and lime juice
Dinner will be: minced beef and sofrite vegetables with taco seasoning wrapped in lettuce leaves
So far I’ve had one decaf coffee, 750ml of water and a 500ml bottle of decaf Diet Coke. I’m about 5.5 stone over my goal weight (have already lost 2 stone) but disillusioned with diets so concentrating on logging calories and staying below 1400/day, whole foods and exercise
