What did you eat today?

A few months ago there was a really fun series of threads where people listed what they’d eaten that day (and had a general chat).

I really enjoyed it but can’t find it anymore so I thought I’d start one.

It was really interesting and varied (it’s not a weight loss or judgy thread- unless the judgement is ‘that sounds delicious, what’s the recipe/where did you buy it?’). Everyone is welcome!

Today I’ve had:
Breakfast- Scrambled eggs, sautéed veg (tomatoes, red onion, spinach, mushrooms). And tea with milk.

Snack- Americano with milk

Lunch- Chicken salad (chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, avocado, sesame dressing).
Followed by low fat Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, strawberries, nectarine and blueberries.

Dinner- Will be roasted salmon, homemade potato wedges, roasted courgette/tomato/onion/fennel.
Followed by a watermelon and lime ice lolly (I make my own so it’s just fruit).

I’ve just started weight watchers so it’s not the most exciting day (I’ve also tried to cut out UPFs as much as possible and use my points on high fat whole foods like avocado and nuts). I’m looking forward to living vicariously through other people’s treats!

Packet of mini cheddars
skinny crunch toffee
half a naan bread (buttered, my children demand this now, don’t judge me) with tandoori spiced chicken with red onion and peppers. With a drizzle of mint yoghurt and mango chutney.

Aldi skin on chips , olives , feta and tomatoes fresh off the vine from the garden ,

I did end up having 1 can of cider last night oops.
today I’ve had:
bagel with avocado and tomatoes
2 chicken nuggets from McDonald’s (stolen from kids)
dairylea dunker
Quavers
feel like I’ve eaten more than that but I honestly can’t think! Not been hungry for food today.
might have some cheese on toast for supper

a sausage sandwich (reduced chipolatas)
some honey and mustard pretzel pieces
two squares of pizza. My children called me a heathen for buying a square pizza, but it was in a “picky tea” offer.

I have made 24 portions of chilli for the freezer though.

Millionaire's shortbread

Tuna and salad cream sandwich, an apple, two tomatoes, some courgette cake and five gingernuts

Cheese and onion sandwich.

Bought the bread because I couldn't be arsed making any- and I should have just made some because it's awful.

Berries, Greek yoghurt, walnuts, chia seeds, flaxseeds, honey.
Small bag pretzels
2 chicken sausages
Roasted butternut squash salad with puy lentils, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, red onion, feta, pumpkin seeds, dressing.
2 small glasses Sauvignon blanc

Lamb shish meat and salad.
Not much and not a hugely nutritious day for me but not every day is a perfect day!

Sorry for disappearing, it’s been a busy weekend!

Yesterday was my birthday so I had exactly what I wanted. We went out for the day so I ate out twice.
Breakfast:

  • Pistachio and dark chocolate croissant
  • Full fat yoghurt with honey roasted peaches, almond butter and flaked almonds.
  • A slice of toasted sourdough with smoked salmon, cream cheese and cornichons.
  • Flat white

Lunch:

  • Mixed sashimi platter, edamame beans, miso soup. A couple of pieces of DH’s spicy salmon sushi.
  • A matcha mochi.

Dinner:

  • Yuzu and bitter orange gin spritz.
  • Steak Frites (medium rare) with herb butter, and lemon and garlic charred broccolini
  • Apricot and peach sorbet

Today was a bit more normal again 😂
Breakfast:

  • Low fat yoghurt with peanut butter, banana and strawberries
  • Iced Americano with skimmed milk

Lunch:

  • Grilled chicken salad with sesame dressing
  • Some fruit salad that I shared with the kids (which meant I mostly got melon and kiwi because they picked out the best bits 😂)

Dinner:

  • Beef and veggie stir fry (although not very much because DH accidentally made it too spicy for me).
  • Apple and a peanut and chocolate energy ball.

This sounds so delicious, that lentil salad is really similar to one of my favourites and it’s reminded me to make it again!

@BearBuggy could I have the recipe for your Goan beef curry- it sounds like something we’d love (I’ll happily trade for my Keralan prawn curry recipe!).

@FurForksSake I love how kids can decide something is ‘wrong’ because it’s a different shape to usual 😂

@ExitPursuedByABare I love pink grapefruit. It’s something else that I never think to buy but will go on my next shopping list. I love this thread for inspiring me to try new recipes and reminding me of things I really like!

@MrsSethGecko I’m trying your mutton curry tomorrow (although with lamb shank because I couldn’t find mutton). DH is very excited!

@MumbleJumble123that pistachio and chocolate croissant sounds amazing! And happy birthday for yesterday.
A lot more fruit and veg today for me than the last couple of days!
breakfast - banana and frozen mango smoothie, bowl of cereal. Coffee.
Lunch - Cheese and ham sandwich, an apple.
Dinner - chicken fajitas with salsa, cheese, sweetcorn, red peppers and onions.
snack: slice of homemade Victoria sponge cake, coffee.

I slept in today and my eating has been poor, it's only been Chinese style broccoli, nectarines and cherries and a cheese and onion pasty so far

Today has been long and tiring and I'm fed up. So I've eaten the better part of a bag of BBQ rice crackers, six KFC hot wings, veg soup, cinnamon raisin soda bread, an apple, porridge, vegetable Pie and more BBQ crackers.

Roast chicken, Yorkshire pudding, broccoli, carrots, roast potatoes and gravy.
Banana split with cookie dough ice cream, banana and whipped cream
3 teas with milk and 1 lime juice with sparkling water so far
Will have a very light dinner

Had some Greek salad for lunch with leftover grilled chicken fillets from last night.
Dinner is Mexican, prawn tacos, blackened beef in some other kind of bread, chorizo fondu thing, spicy wedges, guacamole and tortilla for dipping. Dh is cooking up
a storm with dc2 at the moment. I’m feeling rather peckish, it’s smelling amazing!
