Best crisps ever

What are they, in your opinion?

I want crisps.
I love them all though.
I can't go buy 20 different varieties.
(Or can I? 🤔)
There'll definitely be some Kettle Chips Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar in my basket.

What else should I get?

I used to love those lamb and mint ones, walkers sensations? They don’t do them any more I don’t think:(

I loved those. I remember buying them when I was at university, when they were in the white packets.

My favourite are Sensations chicken and thyme.

I used to love Seabrook straight-cut salt and vinegar, but i don't think you can get them any more.

TheChosenTwo · 05/07/2025 12:52

Oh god kettle chips of any flavour are my worst crisps, I hate them and never understand why people love them so much!

But I am a self declared child crisp fiend, my favourites are pickled onion monster munch, nice and spicy nik naks and cheese and onion hula hoops 😂 perhaps I’m just not a very sophisticated grown up!!

I did laugh at a post very early on about brannigans beef and mustard, I still remember when I was little that I had some of their ham and mustard crisps and the tingly feeling in my nose!

EsmaCannonball · 05/07/2025 13:09

Obviously the best crisps that have ever existed in the universe are the Co-op Truly Irresistible Sea Salt and Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Crisps. They can be slightly painful to eat, which just adds to the experience, imo.

I recently tried Torres Fried Egg Crisps and they were lovely - tasted exactly like the brown, crispy fringe you get on a fried egg - but I don't think I can justify forking out £5 on a bag of crisps all the time.

MINI CHEDDERS! I also love skips, pickled onion monster much, and (on the other end of the class spectrum) truffle flavour crisps. I only had truffle ones last month because DH brought them home, I was furious with him for spending that much on crisps at first, but they’re yummy!

I will say though when I’ve been to France… the French have fucking sublime crisps. Genuinely the best crisp flavours out there.

RedBeech · 05/07/2025 13:17

DH currently loves the Pipers Wild Thyme and Rosemary.

i thought smiths but google told me walkers

Ah thanks, they've obviously been taken over.

Missfabulousat50 · 05/07/2025 13:19

Glen's of antrim salt and vinegar crisps,so strong they would bring a sweat to your brow delicious

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 05/07/2025 13:20

Tayto cheese and onion
hula hoops - beef
m and Worcester sauce

I don’t like ‘posh’ crisps.

Totally agree, they’re awesome !

Tesco Finest Mature cheddar and red onion - 150g bags are dangerous as hard not to eat whole bag in one sitting

That's exactly what happens to me every time I buy one of the scoffing 'sharing' bags. I keep eating 'just a few more' and before I know it I've scoffed over 100g of crisps! All too easily done. You'd be unlikely to eat 5 small bags one after the other (although I have...) but it's very easy with the big bags. Every time I do it I feel guilty and swear not to buy one of the big bags again but I always give into the temptation!

Yup ... I don't allow myself to buy those sharing bags very often anymore because too often, I've scoffed the lot.

Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli

Brannigans beef and mustard but don't exhale through your nose while eating them

Love these but haven't seen them in the shops for ages!
Lancashire crisps are my fave, especially the cheese and onion.

Ohhhthedrama · 05/07/2025 16:11

At the moment Turtle chips. The sweetcorn soup flavour.

They call them 'sharing bags' to make you feel like less of a pig when buying them. I'm sure they know that 90% of folks scoff the whole lot themselves.

Sharing them with Me, Myself and I.

MrsSethGecko · 05/07/2025 16:40

Piper's, any flavour but especially salt and vinegar or rosemary
Asda fancy Chardonnay vinegar and sea salt.

WutheringShites86 · 05/07/2025 16:41

Soubriquet · 05/07/2025 10:54

My very favourite! I can only get either via Amazon or Asda (which is a 30 min drive away and don’t deliver here)

Worcester Sauce French Fries

love em

They often have them in our local poundland if you have one nearby @Soubriquet . I love them too!

I'm a total crisp fiend, only flavour I ever met that I didn't like were some sweetcorn Seabrook ones - I think it was some sort of free trial pack in the late 90s that absolutely didn't take off 🤢

Mayve · 05/07/2025 16:48

Phileas Fogg tortilla chips from the late 80s
Brannigans beef and mustard
both sadly discontinued

Tesco salt and vinegar furrows for crisps you can actually still buy

Natsku · 05/07/2025 16:52

Aldi brand prawn cocktail. I always bring back as much as I can fit in my suitcase when I visit the UK

TeeBee · 05/07/2025 16:53

Torres EVOO flavour.

Sadly they don't exist anymore 😪
