Best crisps ever

What are they, in your opinion?

I want crisps.
I love them all though.
I can't go buy 20 different varieties.
(Or can I? 🤔)
There'll definitely be some Kettle Chips Sea Salt & Balsamic Vinegar in my basket.

What else should I get?

Hard agree with PP saying Taytos best cheese and onion crisps ever.

For posh crisps, I love the Tyrell black pepper crisps - just utterly peppery and oily and delicious.

Had Lidls deluxe version sea salt and cracked black pepper yesterday...lovely

Even though they are Walkers in a different bag, I swear Lays crisps (sold abroad) are the best salt & vinegar crisp around!

IcedPurple · 05/07/2025 12:13

The Aldi own brand cheese and onion - or whatever they call it - that come in a blue bag.

LittlleMy · 05/07/2025 12:15

Walkers Tomato Ketchup, Max Fiery Prawn Cocktail (sadly discontinued) and Savoursmiths Bubbly crisp (really do have the taste of a glass of champagne!)

softlyfallsthesnow · 05/07/2025 12:16

Brets. Made in Brittany and only available on France unfortunately. Or maybe fortunately for my waistline.

When DS was 10 he wrote a poem to Seabrook crisps waxing lyrical about his favourite flavours, and they invited us for a tour of the factory in Bradford and sent us home with a box of 48!! So I should also say Seabrook are the British best.

midlifeattheoasis · 05/07/2025 12:17

Tyrell’s sea salt and truffle…bloody lovely

tartyflette · 05/07/2025 12:18

In Spain you can get jamón flavoured crisps, superior cured raw ham flavour. Lovely.

evtheria · 05/07/2025 12:18

UK crisps:
Roysters t-bone
Pipers beef

Ioniapalace · 05/07/2025 12:19

I like the wotsit shaped peanut flavour ones that they sometimes have in middle lidl.
or dill flavour crinkle cut lays . With a tub of sour cream .

Lolliz87 · 05/07/2025 12:20

Golden wonder bang bang spicy Thai or Mackies (now Taylor’s) pickled onion. I like a strong tasting crisp 😂

Twinklewonderkins · 05/07/2025 12:20

I drive by the Seabrook factory fairly often and when they are frying it smells amazing!!
Walkers Cheese n Onion for me tho.

Tooty78 · 05/07/2025 12:22

My DH loves the Patatas Fritas (in the see through bag) from Spain, family and friends bring them back for him. Yes, they do arrived intact!
Also a fan of Lays crisps.

Waitingfordoggo · 05/07/2025 12:26

Blue McCoys and Discos. Even just typing those words made me salivate. I hardly ever eat crisps but if I do, it’ll be either of those.

If I’m buying snacks to share with visitors, I always get those Sensations Lime and Coriander ones- I haven’t met anyone yet that doesn’t like them (I know someone is going to pop up now to say they hate them 😂)

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 05/07/2025 12:26

Tyrell’s

The ones you get in Spanish Frutos secos shops in a big plain plastic bag.

EleanorReally · 05/07/2025 12:26

interestinglyk Seabrooks are now owned by a Japanese company, i have only come across them in the last couple of years, because they were cheaper than others and i like them

familyissues12345 · 05/07/2025 12:27

walkers cheese and onion squares

Edited

They've definitely changed these over recent years. The texture is very thin now and the squares are more like curls.

I loved old squares

youreactinglikeafunmum · 05/07/2025 12:30

I LOVE skips 😭

butteredbarmbrack · 05/07/2025 12:36

Tayto spring onion is my current crisp of choice, I have to bring them back specially from trips to N Ireland though as I can get some of the flavours in London (cheese and onion most definitely easily available) but haven’t as yet spotted the spring onion on the mainland!

Karistyleaftea · 05/07/2025 12:39

Pipers ready salted . Lovely crunch.
Waitrose essentials 6 pack ready salted for £1.25.
I think they have a really buttery taste.
McCoys flame grilled steak.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 05/07/2025 12:41

Mods really need to start banning users who don't understand the difference between a crisp and a corn/potato snack 😡

Fibrous · 05/07/2025 12:42

Torres black truffle.

I like Two Farmers as well. Salted.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 05/07/2025 12:49

Pipers Chorizo crisps are the best... so much so that I buy them by the box-load 😳
