So much choice today but I'll keep it simple and traditional: fish, chips, scraps, salt and vinegar. There's two shops I frequent - never known if it's cod or haddock.

Fish cake and chips please.

Only Scottish fish and chips allowed - white pudding supper

Plaice and chips please. Haven't seen plaice on offer in years.

Since this is fantasy world and I don't need to consider the calories or saturated fat, please can I have a deep fried pizza supper with curry sauce on the chips?

I note the popularity of mushy peas and curry sauce. Not to my taste, I admit. In Yorkshire, I understand dandelion and burdock is a common accompaniment to f&c. I liked it as a bairn but couldn't drink it now. I remember it sticking to my teeth!

BTW, the fish must be skinned, whether cod or haddock.

Haddock and chips, please, fried in beef dripping. Vinegar on fish but not on chips, thanks, just salt. Scraps would be good too but not mushy peas - one of only two foods I really can't stomach.

Small cod and chips, mushy peas please. More salt and vinegar than you think is reasonable.

DH is out tonight so just small fish and chips and scraps, lashings of vinegar, some salt and some Tizer please (do they still even make Tizer?)

Pie ans chips with gravy and curry sauce. I'd like the sauce in pots though as I don't like to mix them. Plenty of salt and vinegar. A jumbo sausage if there are no nice or hot pies.

Haven’t heard of scraps before?! I am Scottish and we have fritters here, assuming it’s similar.

Cod (no skin) chips with scraps on the chips plenty of salt and vinegar and bread and butter for a chip butty or 2

Scraps are the random bits of batter they fish out of the oil, @Lucillebatwings

So you get bits of crispy batter scattered on top of your chips if you ask for 'scraps'.
