I can’t believe I’m not seeing more threads on this. Starmer back israel against Iran. Other Muslim countries are supporting Iran.

Because stopping Iran having nuclear weapons is also in our best interests too. It’s naive to think by keeping quiet we will be buying our safety. Iran’s leadership is unhinged and dangerous and the more countries grouping together against them will make things better for us all long term.

I hope not.

It’s so awful for those two countries and destabilising for the rest of the world. Iran affects the oil price so a lot of other countries will take an interest in this conflict.

Excuse me the revolution was in 1979 not so long ago.

My geography teacher had lived in Persia. We covered it in lessons complete with many slides she had taken while living there. The history is fascinating they were millenia ahead many races. Great builders, architects, artists, writers.

I can't get worked up about this.

First it was the US and USSR, now it's Israel and Iran, and in between it's been many other possibilities. And that's just in my lifetime.

Over half a century of WW3 might be starting and you begin to be somewhat cynical and jaded.

But I can’t see the rationale in your statement when Iran would almost certainly wipe out the Palestinians in Gaza should they choose to target Israel with nuclear weapons? The Iranian despots care no more for the Palestinians than the Israeli government. Don’t make the mistake of thinking they do.

Possibly, but I do think its the end of the Iranian regime and many Iranians will celebrate, but not at the expense of their country being bombed and I hope they dont end up like the other countries where vicious regimes have come to an end followed by a power vacuum where life is worse now than before. In all of these conflicts its just tragic that its the general public that get hit hardest and suffer, not war mongering politicians or death obsessed religious zealots.

Of course they intend to use them against Israel. Iran have openly vocalised that they want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Most other countries with weapons haven’t targeted another country with the same statement.

Hmmm - Iran a country that through its proxies has attacked British shipping, which kidnapped Royal Navy sailors and recently five Iranians were arrested for planning a terrorist attack in London. And you think Israel are the bad guys?? Unless of course you think terrorist attacks in London are OK

Quite frankly Israel has done the UK a massive favour in putting back Irans's nuclear bomb ambitions.
