I can’t believe I’m not seeing more threads on this. Starmer back israel against Iran. Other Muslim countries are supporting Iran.

The level of killing over disagreement about which fictional sky fairy people worship is shocking.

Why is Israel the decider? Pakistan and India have nuclear weapons and a lot of ill feeling towards each other. Israel is busy taking over areas of Lebanon and Syria, as well as continuing its illegal occupation of the West Bank while committing genocide in Gaza. What countries has Iran bombed or invaded or attacked?
We ‘stand’ with a country that happily starves 2 million people?

Iran has attacked and bombed Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen. Also engaged in the war in Sudan. Yeah, they tend to work through proxies but they are most certainly attacking, bombing and intentionally destabilising these counties.

Israel is the decider in this case because iran presents an existential threat to it. Which is nuts as there's no dispute, not over resources, not over land. Its purely ideological on Iran's part. Israel will not allow iran to have nuclear weapons as they know exactly what threat they pose and does not give a shiny shit if you approve

And no Israel is not taking over Lebanon or Syria other than placing army in Syria near the border to create a buffer to keep Jihadists away from israeli civilian communities. You may have noticed what they did to the Druze, Christians and Alawites in Syria.

The ignorance of the realities of the region and reliance on soundbites is just stunning.

Anyone would think you were a genocidal bigot.

DrPrunesqualer · 15/06/2025 10:18

That’s not Netanyahus grand plan.

Your belief in a grand plan is misplaced.
Indeed, Netanyahu's problem in both Gaza and iran is the lack of a vision and strategy. As an israeli columnist said about him, he orders the most expensive dish on the menu in the hope that others will foot the bill.

Or that I actually visited both places contrary to you . And know to well the agenda pushed .

You certainly know the agenda being pushed.

The level of killing over disagreement about which fictional sky fairy people worship is shocking.

The questions are:
They all worship the very same God
They all agree that said God has commanded us to not coomiting muder= You shall not kill

Only solution to this conumdrum is that those leading these conflicts do not believe in God. They only believe in the manipulation and twisting that can give them any power. That is why they can change tune so easily. It is not really about religion, but about the use of religion as a power control tool.

Learnt it word for word apparently.

You may have 'visited' @Crazyworldmum but you can't have lived among the people and come out with that wild assertion. Palestinians want and deserve their homeland. Why shouldn't they be prepared to fight and die for it? The alternative is to die a slow death every day. If you have nothing to lose of course you will fight, especially when your everyday life is one colossal injustice.

If iran launched a nuclear weapon at Israel (or Russia at Ukraine) what would the outcome be? Presuming noone retaliated (I'm assuming they may well do, but if they didn't) would that destroy the surrounding area only, or the entire countries, or send radiation across the world?
I tried to Google this the other day and couldn't find clear answers.

Avery simplified way of looking at the matter. Do you really believe if Iran used nuclear weapons that the UK, USA, France etc would sit on their hands ?

Sarah2891 · 15/06/2025 11:13

Nope WW3 hasn't started. I can't see it happening any time soon.

I think they'd fire back, but would that leave iran able to actually retaliate against them?

I’m not going to carry on . Some of us lived and volunteered and know enough to actually give an inside perspective but I’m not being banned for telling you some of the stuff I saw because it’s not worth it since admin is biased . I can tell you I have nil links to Israel , I’m not a Jew or have a personal agenda and what I saw in Gaza years ago is not normal behaviour . It’s also not “ having nothing to loose “ , I traveled to worse places than Gaza where people died of starvation and still didn’t behave the same way . Anyway have a nice day . I’m getting tired of biased posts .

Yes, to quote from that article:

"The global nuclear watchdog's board of governors has formally declared Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations for the first time in 20 years."

Apparently thousands of children are jihadis and Hamas are hiding in ICU and schools. They're hiding in amongst aid workers and starving people approaching aid trucks. Targeted with surgical precision.

Crazyworldmum · 15/06/2025 10:54

Yes they are because if Hamas ! Blaming the wrong side

So by extension of your logic a genocide is permissible.

They'd have done much better at having their own homeland if they'd have compromised and taken the various peace deals which have been on the table. Then they wouldn't have had some strange Sophie's chocie between a quick death and a slow death that you seem to have decided is their only fate.

Let's also remember that in 1948, no State of Palestine was declared. Why? And between 1948 and 1967 no State of Palestine was declared either. Why? And then the 'Three Nos of Khartoum' - why? And why turn down the various peace deals which were on the table back when there was a peace process (let's remember that Hamas was busy blowing up buses precisely to derail the peace process just before elections between Peres and Netanyahu, with Iran directing Hezbollah to attack Israel from Lebanon for precisely the same reason - ironically Netayanhu was elected due to Hamas and Iran). Why?

DickAhOn · 15/06/2025 11:53

MiloMinderbinder925 · 15/06/2025 10:11

I can't believe anyone actually believes that Israel will stop ethnic cleansing if they get back the remaining hostages. It's like believing in the tooth fairy.

Why not call their bluff then?

MiloMinderbinder925 · 15/06/2025 11:55

DickAhOn · 15/06/2025 11:53

What do you mean? Release the hostages and get obliterated?

QuiteUnbelievable · 15/06/2025 11:56

@MushMonster trump would absolutely assist if UK ands Europe were attacked.

They have said that many many times quietly in amongst the bigger stronger statements

They want everyone to wake up and spend more in defence.
You don't keep saying we've got your backs but sure don't pay what you need etc.

They have had to go royally hard Ball on this but they do still have our backs.

QuiteUnbelievable · 15/06/2025 11:57

@DickAhOn I agree call their bluff re releasing hostages.
