When the IRA bombed Warrington, Manchester, London, would the British have been just in sending over planes to drop bombs on buildings in Irish towns? As a kid I went to see wrestling in my local community centre (saw Giant Haystacks on one occasion) and there were about 300 in there. Because the terrorist leaders decided it would be fun to kidnap torture and murder Israeli civillians. Israel have asked Hamas to release the remaining hostages. Once that's done the war will be done.

The leader will be replaced with someone just as draconian, and they'll be less inclined to cooperate with peace deals. They've killed the chief negotiator, but I believe they were talking to the US about loosening sanctions in exchange halting their arms programme.

I can't believe anyone actually believes that Israel will stop ethnic cleansing if they get back the remaining hostages. It's like believing in the tooth fairy.
